Its looking good so far. Its all a bit too smooth at the min tho, it needs to be more sharp in places like the cliff… one of the best ideas i’ve seen on here… much better than doing what every body else is doing (dinomonsterthing with big feet).

hey, this is looking great! I know we’re not being judged on textures, but I think this will look wicked textured. with a family of dolphins swimming in the ocean too…but it depends on how detailed you wanna go with it.
definitely sharpen the cliffs, and make the ridge more jagged too.
also, does the island have its own sun? or does it rely on the sunlight from the sun in the outside world (the one that the wheelbarrow is in…if it is in its own world)?
great work! you rule!!! ![]()

Thanks opiate! Ya i hope i do get to texturing it cause i agree that it would add a ton. thanks to Twistid, I was thinking that i’d ad some little seagul type birds flying in the sky, really really small… Dolphins would be cool too…
I’m still trying to decide if i want to make a traditional wheel barrow… or make one up. I had some ideas about the bowl that the island and stuff would sit in would be held up by some sort of magnetic field so its not actually toughing anything but air so that when the wheel barrow twists and turns it would kind of counterballence its self with gravity and stay level… ya follow me? haha.
I was also thinking that the light source could be some sort of lantern or whatnot that would be able to be turned on/off by the beast of burden that would be pushing the wheel barrow… think of it as like in a fish tank, you decide when its night or day :).
Anywho, for the update:

I like the idea of a self balancing barrow, I was wondering about all that water sloshing out in the first sketches
hey mike, for that self blance stuff, i dont know if ud need it, why not just havethe wheel barrow all rusted and sitting in someones overgrown lawn, like its been sitting there for a while, aloth that kinda defeats the beast of burdon thing, but hey thatd be cool!
or u could just say when ever it gets moved its like really rough waves and shit and stomy as hell ect ect
i dotn know just some suggestions, i think making a couterbalance thing is a bit hard plus how would u show that thats what it does?
i dotn know i just couldnt think of how it would work
keep up the good work, cliffs looking great!
peace
Yeah, I don’t think the water sloshing would be a big problem. If it really bugs you though you could put some sort of gyroscpe-controlled shock absorbers beneath the ‘barrow’ part of the wheel barrow.
Hey hey!
Twisted - Thats a good idea! I was trying to think about how i could keep just a regular wheel barrow look with the counterbalance thing and i couldnt get any good designs… so i might so something like you were saying there but maybe put it in a rickity old shed or something and have a lantern acting as the sunlight… or a crack in the roof.
Zr0-1 - Always glad to have your post! some “gyroscope-controlled shock absorbers” eh? haha nice…
Thanks for the critique… i’m going to post as soon as i can, probably Monday. I havnt been able to do any work this past week… busy busy :hmm:

Hey hey!
Sorry about the lack of updates… i’ve been trying to finish my demo reel for the end of the month… then its off to try to get my foot in the door :).

Anywho, heres a quick update… finally.

lookin coo mikerely. I think the lighting rules looks almost like a brazil render, as for critiqe I think the two mountains are to round and simalar there also should be more randomness.
but you are a Madman.
Chadarely - Haha thanks… i noticed that about the mountains too but no one said anything so i was hoping it would slide… but how could it slide by the chad? haha… i’ll see what i can do.
Ya I like that lighting too… its just a bunch of directional lights in a ball for the ambiance, one directional light thats a little bit blue with shadows on, and one directional light the oposite direction thats a bit yellow (shadows off)… try it out.
All of the new modeling looks great. I love the farm, it looks really awesome. On ecrit about the lighting: You need to turn off the shadows for the blue light and turn them on for the yellow light. Right now your yellow light is your strongest “source” light but the shadows are being cast from the opposite direction. That is most obvious in the farm picture. As far as the mountians I think you could get away with just making them have sharper edges, less ‘worn-down’.
Great work so far, keep it up!

Zro-1 - Thanks for the critique man! I can’t believe i never noticed that… wow… not that you pointed that out its so obvious. I guess thats what critiques for
Thanks.
I’ll play with the mountains tomorrow hopefully… and put the village onto the scene… and then its onto the wheel barrow part i guess.
Later
hey hey!
The town is in place… I have to tweek the shadow quality and stuff… so thats what those weird lines are

hey mike
looking nice so far…but one question…where’s the beast? Also, you might wanna break up the water…make some big waves. but lookin nice…wanna see more.
<------constipated smiley just for you
