Beast of Burden - characters - Vassago

I’m not sure which way I’m going to go with this. I have yet to decide wether or not I’m going to create a model, or continue out with a rendering of the 2d image. I hardly ever draw, so there are quite a few obvious probs with perspective/proportions. But hey, I’m learning  comments/critique welcome.

Nice concept work, I say model and rig that sucker in 3d. Why does the rider have a muzzle as well? what his story?

#3

wow, that’s a nice concept! I would have added more trinkets and stuff if I where you… I hope you decide to make this one in 3d because I would love to see the progress in of it.
you’ll have alot of work to do if you’re going to model BOTH those caracters though,
good luck.

I gape at the talent. Yee gods! Nice! If the model comes out half as good as the drawing, you’re set!

Well, thanks for the comments so far everyone.

I’ve started in on the 3d model for the beast, which doesn’t seem to be coming out as good as I’d hoped. If things continue to go bad, I’ll just be doing a 2d rendering of the sketch.

The riders’ story is loose and incomplete, but this is about the jist of it so far:

Basically after months of starvation throughout his homeland, this creature called Zitar Bromicious went Hannibal Lector on his own people. After being captured, the muzzle was bolted into his beak, and his eyes gouged from his head. The tribe shaman also granted Zitar immortality, so that he must suffer for eternity. Zitar was then banished forever into the Cursed Outlands. While he may live forever, his body will not. He is forced to endure the pain of his body slowly rotting away to nothing, eventually being no more than a walking heap of bone. The beast he rides was won in a duel. He uses the beast to traverse the Outlands, and to haul anything he sees fit.

Here is a smidge of progress on the Beast rider, Zitar. Ignore his eyes for now - I’m redoing them. Feel free to dig in and critique what I’m showing so far though :
