Beast of burden - character - ZrO-1

#323

great job, especially the addition of the sceleton.

umm, how does the cowboy-guy climb up and down?

#324

Looking good. Have you thought about posing him in a more mobil fashion by lifting a leg or 3? Just a thought, looks great.

#325

@ sad: I knew I was forgetting to do something. Rope ladder coming up.

@ KnightWhitie: Yeah I’m going to rig the bugs legs for walking. I just wanted to get all of the modeling finnished first.

#326

hey zro, great impovements-i love the skeleton in the back. very cool!:buttrock:

#327

looks great:eek:

What do you think about a dog or a dogbug or bugdog sort of creature to run along? (and to keep the cowboy company in those long and lonely nights at the fire) could be a scaled down version of your huge bob -> petsize.

Anyway - keep it going - it´s going to be one awesome finished piece!!!

#328

i agree with everyone; the skeleton in the back was really a great idea!

#329

its really comming together! all the detail you put in is looking great, it al looks really good together. i agree with the comment about making the legs look like they are in action(your fixin that anyway though) but other than that i cant think of anything. nice piece!!

Here’s some more stuff. I added in the rope-ladder and a little step for it to connect to. I also made a hammok inside the carriage for the cowboy to rest his weary head.
Here’s the ladder:

#331

And here’s a shot of the hammok inside the carriage. If you look closely you’ll also see that I began posing the cowboy. I’ll post a pic of him once all the posing is complete.
Here’s the hammok:

This kicks so much ass, I can’t even describe it. More, give us more!!!

LOL thanks bro!

#334

looking sweet zro, hammock is a cool idea. He just needs a solar powered bar fridge now, for those long hot journeys.

#335

Just got to see this ZrO-1…
its all lookin’ great!
lookin’ forward to the final renders…

#336

Here’s two more pics of my progression with posing the cowboy.
Pic 1:

#337

And here’s pic 2:

#338

 wow this looks really great …

#339

i know it’s early days on the posing of the cowboy, but just wanted to make sure you were going to have him super relaxed, in total control of the situation. At the mo he’s a bit stiff, i’m sure you were going to do this anyway.

Love the cloth on the contraption, did you model it like that or did you set up a dynamic simulation?

#340

@ the_real_cabal: thanks man. I’m glad you like it.

@ phil: Just to make sure you realised this: pic 2 is a further stage than pic 1. In pic 2 he’s leaning back and has his forearms resting on the edge of the carriage wall; I still need to refine it though. I just wanted to be sure everybody understood that the cowboy isn’t in the “I have to pinch a loaf” pose he was in the first pic.
[edit] the cloth on the carriage was modeled that way. It’s just a lofted NURBS surface that I shaped with the sculptSurfaces tool and some trims for the tears/holes.[/edit]

Keep on going Zro-1.

I think you should work on the clothing when you get the time. The pants are too spikey and the shirt has some weird details on the shoulders. Other then that well as others said, you should bone hime and relax him a bit. Bend the fingers lower the shoulders that kinda stuff.

I’m just trying to be constructive here. Push you a step farter.

:applause:

#342

Did a little more work on the pose. I also added in a back part od the seat and a sillplate running across the top of the front wall.
Here’s the pic:
