Beast of Burden - Character - XVIVO

#1

Well, This topic brought an image to mind, so I sat down for a couple of hours and roughed this out… Plenty still to go. The harness is temporary, and I have not decided what this big lug should be hauling…

having fun doing something other that MOAs for pharmaceuticals

great concept like it alot, love the oversized arms, and cool face(or lack thereof) :xtreme: :buttrock: :xtreme:

#3

Niiiiccccce…

I love the bulging arms, it’s a good block out.

#4

nice! i like it!
but i don’t understand the way it carries that rock. i mean…
the rock will fall over and the rope will loose its contact to the stone.
i hope you understand what i mean! :stuck_out_tongue:

#5

Shouldn’t you be backing up our server right about now?

Just kidding. Cool character design! I like the arms ending in those stumps.

Have a great 4th!

The car is fixed. See you Friday!

#6

Amazing!!!

Very simple, and yet very expressive. This is going to be a kic´ass model. :applause:

Great Work.

#7

Nice bulgy look! I like a lot. Ditto on the rock though… might fall over and hurt somebody!

oh man what happened? Did I experienced some kind of time travel? in one day all those threads already and modelling went already that far? are you guys high ??
nice start Xvivo… one little comment , try to refer to existing animals, even just a bit… is it mammifer? lezard like? it will help you to go further in details

#10

Not high, just drinking too much tea (and honestly, how much tea is too much tea?)

pascal, i am thinking this beast is a genetic experiment gone horrible wrong. It all started in a lab south of memphis. The researchers combined the dna of a giant sloth, a bull, and a rhino. If that wasnt bad enough, around 1:30 am… the maintence guy accidently spilled some of his flask in (it was later believed to be Jack Daniels)

What came out was one messed up hunk of cytoplasm with a bad attitude. (he can be tamed though with whisky) hence his beast of burden status.

JEEEEZ, this is pretty close to my concept. Back to the drawing board  I guess it’s just the same type of beast with the sunken head.

But very cool. keep goin cause this is gonna be kewl

#13

here it is afew hours later…I removed the harness… I will just focus on the beast for now. Starting to define the chest fourm, and add some more detail in the claws, arms and back.

#14

helps to add image

#15

I don’t suppose you’d want to post a wireframe, I’m fairly new to 3d and I’d like to see how you got that nice “weighty” look to your creature.

#16

Woo, this is looking really cool already…love the mass of it. Really burly. The stunted forms are great too, really feels mutated.

#17

That beast definately has some weight to it.:surprised How big is it compared to a human?

#18

I (as many others) like the weight of this guy alot, really nice idea. I really hope you’re going to add alot of muscles, veins etc… that would be cool to see.

#19

Thanks for all the compliments already!..
here is a wireframe…not too preety to look at…

About the size of this beastie… I think it is 3 meters tall… I only have a photograph to go from, and its hard to judge heights. My colleague who has seen several in the wild swears it is larger but i think he was drinkin to much tea at the time

I plan on adding more detail…veins and such…I am assuming i can map veins right?..I would hate to make the mesh so dense that it can’t be eaisly animated .

anyway back to work

Mike

g’nite
