#21

HuHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuu!!:bounce: …what the hell!!! .::STRIKE::. i got to say…u are an true artist of “RENDERING” (ur last challenge was amazing)…this model is fantastic…it make me feel…i dont know how to say…mmmm…is like this beast could be real…great design…is life like…so…i think u must texture and render it beyond the challenge…very very powerfull…:applause:

#22

:hmm:

this guy rocks!!

#23

bravo:thumbsup:

#24

however, something about the surfaces bug me, The outside shape looks great, but irregular bumps and angles make it look like the mesh underneath

This is what makes Srikes work so great.

Stike, you seem to be able to treat the 3d medium more like a clay substance than most. your work is irregular, but it stands out soo much from the standard smooth Sub-Div charaacter.

Keep doing what it is you do Strike:thumbsup:

#25

Wow, thx for all your great comments guys !

About the irregularities, that’s my wish (like Chico said) to create something unusual than the other meshes. I work sometimes like a sculpture, and the way it is right now makes you think of a clay modeling. That’s not really usual, and maybe disconcerting, but that’s the vision i want to give to this piece, and i hope you’ll keep going seeing it

I think for myself that this kinda of change for a mesh is maybe “weird” but why not change sometimes ?

I’ll post a wireframe later of the main thing. Thank you all !

#26

here’s the wireframe for the beginning of the wagon :

#27

only thing i dont like is that the wheels look like wet clay, the bottom is flat as thouh it cant support itself. lookin good tho

#28

#29

Ha Ha!! Nice!! I like the look of the wheels and i’m glad they arent perfectly cylindrical. it gives them character. overall the style is great.

more!!:buttrock:

Just another angle of view. I think i’m gonna add more details of muscles to the beast and giving the wagon another form too.

#31

#32

First off all, nice model, the “clay” style is actually quite unique.
My comment is just this (I hope it hasn’t been said before):

and giving the wagon another form too.

That might be a good idea, because I don’t really see the use in the wagon as it is now. Maybe if you attached a plow (a really big and heavy one  ) or someting, it would have a better use.

#33

hey strike. I really liked your entry in the enchanted forest challenge…and this one looks just as unique. Maybe some work on the fingers, more definition…

#34

well, thx alot ! i’ll try to do my best

Here’s just another view and after this one, the start of the wagon contained

#35

my canon wagon  (just a start)

#36

really nice work strike, I like the overhall shape of your beast and itts burden… on cool thing to do would be to move the left arm more in the body axis so we can feel the weight …try to do the same pose by yourself, you’ll fall for sure!!! ( im not saying that youare shaped like this  )

#37

yop strike !

boboulo :buttrock:

#38

Wow, thanks Pascal ! I’ll move this arm as soon as possible !

Meka : je vais m’occuper de tous ces détails dès que j’ai terminé le chariot, rajouter un peu de muscles, bouger le bras gauche, les poignets et tout le reste  Merci ami

Here’s an update for the burden and different views of the aspect. Don’t care about the no details stuff, it’s just the idea

#39

I thought about adding rear wheels and it would give this result :

What do you think of the idea ? I mean with only 2 wheels, the canon seems to be unstable, and will probably fall back… so just wondering… help needed…

#40

Hmm, I’d go with the 4 wheels, 2 looks to instable.
If you would go with 2, I suggest you make the cannon stand up, you know, erect.
Hmm, I’d also make the area where it is resting on larger, one bump on the road and the cannon tips over.
Poor beast, the whole thing looks damn heavy.

just a little edit
Is the cannon shooting ovale cannonballs?
