Hi all
Well, this is my fist challenge - I’ve got my system up and running and this challenge has got my juices flowing. I’ll get sketches up today or tomorrow (I hope!). sigh work really gets in the way of our little hobbies, doesn’t it?
OK, so here’s the plan.
Domusaur
The robust domusaur is native of the plains of Threed, domesticated for a thousand years by the Metosi people. Over 60 metres in length, even tempered and traditionally travelling in large family herds, the domusaur is used to carry the homes of the Metosi on their backs. The nomadic people use their beasts’ fearsome size and protective temperament as a form of defense against the raiding parties of the Ch’inzaari.
The lifecycle and habits of the domusar has been adapted enormously by the Metosi, who in turn have been adapted by their relationship with their beasts.
Fortunately, the domusaurs are oviparous, hermaphroditic and parthenogenic (in other words, they do not require mating to breed, instead laying eggs from self-fertilization), thus removing the need to remove the house from the domusaur’s back during breeding season!
===============================
OK, that’s my idea. The model will be a domusaur (possibly with young) with the house on it’s back. Because I want the image to be as detailed as possible, I will make one of the Metosi Chief Elder’s houses, which is ornate and decorated, and the domusaur itself will be decked out in jewelled harnesses, paint, banners and ornaments. The Metosi Family Rider will be perched on the upper hump of the Domusaur’s back with his 8 metre long riding crop and the steering assemblage.
OK, pics soon. Sorry for the delay, but I’m excited to finally be cracking on a challenge.:bounce:
