…a little bit more…

You work quick! :wip:

Nice look. I’m glad to see a nice cross section of realism and cartoonism in this challenge.
The only problem is cartoonism is harder to crit!

hey erilaz, nice to see another melbournite here! just checked out your trutle and he’s starting to look pretty exhausted, the bend of the neck, the weary eyes…

i’m going for that manic crazy exhausted must get that damn carrot thing (or manic craZy exhausted must get my challenge finished thing…!) but that’s a way off yet…

been chipping away some more…

hey this is lookin cool!:buttrock: but plz tell us - are you going for a cartoony look? or is it going to be an evil and mean or just an exploited BoB?

#6

hi derwolpertinger - ummm, i’m really not sure about how realistic i want this to be… it is looking kinda toonish at the moment however i want to add a lot of subtle detail to the model… also the look i’m going for when i get to posing is utter desperation, the body failing vs the uncontrollable drive to GET THAT CARROT… a completely exploited BOB as you say… and i think a slightly toonish look will help that and add to the humour of the image…

lots of detail yet to come around the mouth, teeth, tongue area and lots of general refining all over, (oh and the harness!) but here’s a current state, smooth one to have a peek at…

Love the 2nd sketch and so far the modeling looks right on track too! If you can pose the poor donkey properly so it looks desperate enough, it’s gonna be one damn fine and funny creation! Looking forward to your progress!

a few more updates… am not entirely happy with the dimensions and can’t seem to choose between boney, fat or muscley… think i’ll end up with thin and boney with a round belly…a couple of big heavy crates on his back to come… and posing… and harness…!

I love that mad determination in the eyes. Great look. The carrot, although simple at this stage, is really nice. It actually gives off a “I’m a carrot” aura.

#14

getting him into position, then will add further detail, harness and burden… oh and a jolly big donkey tongue!

made him quite skinny from the last update, body looks a little more consistent now, tho i’m feeling a little sorry for him…!

Really coming along! I love it! The straining for the carrot is really expressive. I’m not sure about the muscle work at the thigh (looks a bit lumpy), but the rest is great.

great updates!:buttrock:
i love the new skinny look. i think it is way much better. and the posing is also very well done.

Thanks erilaz, yeh i’m not so sure about the lumpiness of the back legs (partly in the shading i think) but then the shoulders look like they could use a little more definition to me… oh well, tweak tweak tweak!

thanks for the comments derwolpertinger… some of the work in this challenge is just staggering, people are putting in so much detail! it’s great to see such a passionate, helpful community…it’s just hard to keep up… the carrot is like this comp for me…arrgghh…just a little… more… ! (time is another matter of course…)
