Beast of Burden - Character - fist

well, this represents my second and final try in this challenge :wink:

i got no replies for the first one, and i didn’t really like it myself either…guess it was too simply an idea

so here’s the new stuff

it’s supposed to be a dinosaur/bird beast, to give you a feel for the proportions: the seat for the master will be installed on the two leather straps round the neck

oh and, this is a wip of course, so nothing is final


i think the beast will be completely (over-)loaded with stuff, e.g. on top, bottom + bags and stuff hanging on ropes :surprised

That’s an interesting concept. I think a flying BoB is the way to go. there aren’t too many of them in the challenge.

Is your BoB going to be cartoony or realistic? Right now the shape of the wings and the bulgy eyes make it look cartoony. I’m sorry I didn’t get to reply to your last entry. I honestly didn’t see it. I try and reply at least once to all the threads.

well to be honest i haven’t decided on the look yet, i intended it to be cartoony first, my sketch has that style too - but i think i’ll go for a bit of a mix style (some cartoony elements, i think maybe the rider will pull the harness a bit hard so that the eyes pop out :shame: and i think the tiny feet will stay too =) )

the wings will get a lot more detail, all i did up to this point was giving it the general shape i wanted, then i started adding detail - working front to back, so i haven’t payed much(no) attention to the wings yet

oh and no prob concerning the last thread :wink:

the head is almost ready, and a little more detail was added on the body and harness, and quite obviously i’ve added the seat :slight_smile:

Sounds cool. I like the idea of the rider kind of choking the BoB. If you do have him chocking it you’ll have to open the mouth and have the toung hang out a bit too. That stuff and the eyes… LOL I think that would be hilarious.

another small update (although i got holidays i spend most of my time under the sun right now :cool: )

still managed to add some stuff, i started on the “load” and gave the guy some new feet, i thought it would be practical if he’s able to land / stand too :wink:

i think you can guess what i’m going for now, lots of packages under that plane, and i think i will let some of them fall down :wip:

PLEASE give me some c&c, be harsh - i really need some input, i imagined it to be more detailed then now, but i don’t know what to add besides the rider and more packages

this is supposed to be a challenge, so i really want to push my low-end modeling skills
