Beast of Burden - Character - Equinoxx

#81

Chad-d: thanx

Fedron: thx as well . . . i’ll look into the matter of size . . . but the wrist is thick as it is, it’s just that he has an overly developed forearm

Martin: SHADDUP hehe :stuck_out_tongue:

ZrO-1: I love how you crit . . . your suggestions are always worth consideration, however I kinda like these hoofthings, in my opinion, it looks weird, cause it’s unusaul . . .

as for the ramptextures, don’t mind em . . . they’re just fun & games hehe

#82

Now who ever said “SIZE DOES’NT MATTER”???

Sweet Beast of burden Equinoxx................Looks sharp and badarse................Looking for more, so get to it. :)

#83

lookin fore more you say ?? more it is then

and yes, i know the fingers are sticking thru the groundplane

#84

commin’ along fine. but the horns look weird, is it a bumpMap there or is that modeled? it dosen’t fit with the rest of the character to have it so “bumpy”.
and is that a big vein running through his upper arm or is it just temp? looks weird…
those stuff where the things that bothered me the most, others might like them.

the “things” around the eyes are a really nice feature and the character got style, good!

#85

hi equinoxx - are them plates for protection too? if so they might be a tad to thin - i mean: imagine you´d be silly enough wanting to hurt this fella -> then you´d for sure bring something really BIG along to achieve that! Well, just a thought…

#86

Fellah: you were right i turned the bump on the horns down to a more ‘normal’ level . . .

as for the upperarm, that’s no vein . . . that’s just a Moxydaahs musclestructure

Pit: the plates are mostly decarative and part of his harnass . . . as you say, you would be a fool to try and attack this beast

#87

great stuff there equinoxx

although i have to say i don’t like the way you bent the horns, doesn’t seem natural/believable as the horns of animals are generally follow a smooth curve (tell me if i’m wrong there, don’t know exactly)

also the armor looks more like soft pads, as it’s lacking detail at this point - if this look is not intended consider adding some trim around the pads
but there’s another crit about the armor, it somehow feels “standard” because ‘everyone’ is going for this kind of armor look right now, at least i get this feeling
don’t get me wrong though, it kinda fits your bob - but i’m damn sure you could think of something more original, maybe think about sketching those details too.

i LOVE your work though, and it’s of course way beyond my skills, i hope you can still appreciate my little c&c, these are just the points that would make it perfect in my eyes

#88

You’re one of those guys that made me think twice about entering this comp. Nice Work!

#89

MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than your first attempt!
It’s much more “Gangor-style” and you know how I think of Gangor!!!

Maybe put tha Keepa in the Maxima’s neck, instead of pulling some strings…
Like a little “box” with a couple of Keepa’s in it.

I also like the new head, now it’s more like a “pulling-animal”, rather then a large-psycho-beast! A bit cow/bull/gorilla.

His armor is very classic, maybe find some other, more original armor… like NO armor or something…
(he doesn’t seem defenceless to me) :scream:

Oh yeah, the MOST important thing…GET A BETTER NAME FOR YOUR BOB!!! (MORE GANGOR-STYLE!!! :buttrock: )

#90

awesome buddy, one thing I notice (because I’m always thinking about animation) is the placement of the horns, when his neck rotates down, the horns would pass thru the mesh, you might want to rotate the horns forward more, other than that, you’re doing an admirable job

#91

Awesome sense of mass there! I agree with ZrO-1 - if your keeping the horns, maybe a bit wider and all filed down from the scraping would work - they just seem too “light” visually to be weight bearing. Hard to impliment to be sure (maybe move some of the muscles around to slide some mass down his arms?) His bones alone would be huge!

eh who knows, my $.02

Looking great Yves!!
The only thing that kinda bugs me is the shape of the horns - make the curve rounder, it’s a bit too square…
The design of the armour is awesome! The only thing is that the buckle is the size of the person (well, almost :p), which makes me wonder how the people made them - maybe you should make the straps and stuff more human-sized?
Hehehehe it’s funny cos the little guy looks like one of the little icons from msn LOL…

#93

creative freedom . . . don’t ya jsut love that expression

fist : For real, the issue about the horns [which bug a lot of you] is simple . . . The Moxydaah is obviously not of this world . . and due to that, his horns grow out of sync of earthlike horn-growing [is that even a word :surprised]
Furthermore, they are more cornerish even due to pushing with his horns.

as for the armor, it’s not armor . . . it’s indeed softpadding to prevent the straps from giving him rubburn . . . [the lil blue dudes are very kind to their BoBs since the BoB could easilly squash them if he’s not pleased and they just look nifty

LilD : dun worry bout the horns passing thru the mesh . . . if you look carefully, you can see that if he bends his head, the horns will pass precicely in front of his shouldermuscle

Nibo : I know, gangor OWNZ hehe

Jaymo : you thought twice, good, now ENTER . . . this is a fun challenge, and i for one don’t want to scare people away

Farley : i wanted to make em bigger, but then i could fit them nowhere on his head . . . form over function i guess

Leigh : for the hornthing, read higher
as for the straps and buckles, the 'human’sizes wouldn’t work, to small and weak. Besides, people DO still wonder how people made the pyramides . . . ‘humans’ are capable of building large

thx for the crits all . . . I really appreciate that . …

#94

Maybe it’s been asked before, but…

Just curious to know you such a little guy could control such a massive beast… keeping it docile through diet maybe? Got strings around his bullocks?

#95

hm . . . good question . . . i’ll have to think of sommin . . . perhaps a lildude in a hammock beneath the BoB, ticklin his bollocks ROFL no really, you brought up a good issue here . . . will need to think it thru . . .

#96

LMAO… what a crappy job…

“How was your day honey?”
“I got stuck on ‘Bullock duty’.”
“Ooooo, sorry to hear it, dear.”
“Ya, it was awful… I tickled the big bastard’s bullocks, and he nearly collapsed on me.”

#97

great ! i was waiting for your modelling to go further before commenting, now i think it’s time, it looks really good, i like the proportions, the only crit i would make : i would prefer the back to be more round shaped (but in the inside, not really clear am i ?).
I mean i’d prefer the down part of the back to be more curved in the inside, then the torso would look stronger (more like a gorilla).
of course it’s your model and you decide ! Just a thought.

well done.

#98

ROFL
:scream:

Somehow, I don’t think that tickling his bollocks would get him anything other than randy and sure as hell out of control

Try shocking them instead

#99

Try shocking them instead

Obviously a woman’s suggestion… lol
