beast of burden - character - docboom

alright here´s my try: it a bah-mun. Its got a gas filled bag growing out of its back, which helps it to carry its high body weigth and keep it balanced. On front of the harness sits the rider. He is steering by holding a spikey-thing-on-a-stick ™ either left or right of the bah-muns head. Out of obvious reasons, it tries to get away from the spikey-thing-on-a-stick ™ and walks into the other direction. Thats all so far, on to the images…

Ahh and its producing the gas itself (please don´t ask how
:surprised ) and it is highly explosive so stay away from open flames…

added some detail and a quick bumpmap. Also tweaked the gasbag a bit. Hope it looks more like a balloon now.
Any Crits´n Comments?

Looks like a big sist on his back, someone should pop that bugger

#5

I like the idea of the gas-bag on his back.

Really cool original creature idea…even though he’s suspended you can still feel him struggling…nice folds. The vestigial legs are a cool touch as well. And the pug face is cool, he looks incredibly sad. Just gotta lay in those details everywhere now…keep em coming

Awww! Look at the fellas expression!

There’s a face you could never stay mad at!

Call him Pug

What a truly bizarre character :surprised
But cool, nonetheless

That bump map bothers me a bit though - you should change it… maybe make it a little more natural looking. The skin also looks way to shiny… just a thought

thanks for the replys! i´m currently thinking about what details might fit. The bumpmap is temporary (just a quick voronoi procedural). I gonna change it (also the color). Here is a sketch of where i might be going with the gasbag. (Note: the colors shown might be different to the actual product…)
