Cool ! derwolpertinger :wip:

I agree with ZrO with those crits and take a look at the foot and “Nails”, it seems to me that in the part of contact with the ground do not has weight sensation.

GO ON !! :bounce:

#84

well… thats really much better now!

Keep up the good work
:applause:

#85

damn-it’s five in the morning again-so here’s the last render. can’t write at least one more line…toooo…tiiiirrreeeedd…cu, read or hear you tommorow guys!

#86

ich hab nur lob für dich - sieht richtig fantastisch aus!! Kaffee kochen und weiter machen!:buttrock:

#87

Wow, thats looking cool!!! Great idea.

#88

well-i didn’t want to work on the wall anymore for now. i just wanted to do something different. so i worked on the bob’s texture. there is no colour map on the bob. it is a plugin which generates the colour by shooting rays from polygon surfaces and then calculating the distance between them. if this is not allowed plz tell me. then i’ll remove it. according to the texture: what do you think of the colour? and i also thought about giving the head and the place where the village is placed on different colours/bumps. so what do u guys think?
btw. i think that i should lower the height of the bump map on the head.

#89

Sieht verdammt gut aus - DirtyNuts? Lass die Bump ja in ruhe!!

#90

this looks so different very nice - how u make the gras it looks
good

#91

Wow, das sieht echt heiss aus! :airguitar

Definitely something very different and highly original looking IMHO. Love the gothic touch!

The only thing I can find that looks a bit “off”, would be the claws, they don’t look quite as well as the rest yet, not as natural. They especially stand out in the textured renders, but also look a bit artificially attached (rather than naturally growing out of the foot) in the untextured renders, maybe its the lack of more defined toes? Other than that incredible work!

#92

i don’t know exactly what you mean. these hair are made with solipd spline. and i applied a green bump map on the skin part. that’s it!

#93

I like the beginings of your textures. Is the Beast supposed to be of a grass-like skin texture. That’s what it look like to me and it works with the whole theme. I love it!:buttrock:

#94

at first thx to all who wrote comments here till now. i gotta thank you for all your advices and help and praise, of course!! guys, you are great!
@ scorpio: yes i think the back-where the village is-is going to be graslike. and the rest, well yet i don’t know how i’ll texure it. we’ll see. but a different colour would be good as i think.
now here’s an update again. added the backdoor, ladders at the towers and refined the wall(made it look harder). but cause my neck, wrists and eyes really hurt now i’m taking a short break from my BoB. next updates can be expected on thursday. so on

#95

wow, the design and model is great!

keep up the good work

#96

Kick Ass…

:applause: :applause: :applause:

#97

Looking good Mr. Derwolpertinger!

#98

back at home!
earlier in this thread someone mentioned that the horns at the feet does not look like they are really growing out of them. he was right, that looked like crap! :frowning:
so i did a lot of tweakin’ on them. i like them much better now. additionally i 've created the texture for the horns.
–but there’s anannoying issue i gotta mention here. at the beginning of the challenge i read through the challenge guidelines and also read “must have a harness”. i did not understand this word and thought"ahh i’ll gotta watch out what this word means". unfortunately i forgot that!! damn! now i got a problem cause my BoB obviously needs a harness but as it wasn’t in my thoughts while modelling the whole creature i gotta think about it and how i can realize this.
well anyway here’s the update:

#99

Simple, stick a mouth-piece in the beast’s mouth and have the harness run up to the two towers by it’s sholderblades. They can be control towers for steering the beast.

#100

thx a lot zro-1!!!
nothing more to say now…

#101

hey last render for this day. and just one to get your all opinion. i quickly did a 3d sketch of the harness. it is some metal rings of different scale the villagers pierced into the BoB’s face. there are some chains or ropes attached to the rings which lead to the 2 towers where (again 2 :D) villagers steer the BoB. so what do you think?

#102

WOW…how did i missed this one?! very nice & unique IDEA/MODEL/SCENE/RENDER/…
u rock man
