nice…very unique…I like the addition of the hair…great touch…I agree with ZrO-1 it would be great to see more of the back legs…or maybe more of the back feet! keep it up!

#24

just wanted to have your opinion. well the following pic is just a very rough 3d sketch to show you what i am after. do you think it is a good idea? i also thought it would be maybe better if the houses kinda like grow out of the back of the BoB. so that the villagers build their houses from the material the back is made of. or dou you think that village idea is crap? plz just tell me!

#25

damn…:hmm:

#26

LMAO!!!
Dude that’s great! Hahaha it’s like a little renesance village on its back. I love it

#27

thats awsome, i love the idea. howd you do the hair, did you just model it on?

#28

The village on shell idea is GREAT, just think on a night image, the creature walking through the jungle, and the shiny town lanterns, the tiny windows illuminated… etc.
To give more the look of a small village make a church tower, with clock and everything, and take over all the shell with houses. Don´t forget chimneys.
Just follow your sketch and it will look amazing.

#29

@kzo–> yes the hairs are modelled

@pancreas–>a night scene is areally cool idea. i had a pic in mind where the BoB just comes out of some water whicj is in the forest-i can’t remember the word now ;(. and the back is still in the water and the front is on the muddy land. and there is some fog. these illuminated windows and lanterns will look great hopefully. now i hope that i can exactly realize the scene i have in mind right now. well i’ll try and do my best. btw. thx for all your c&c.

 WOW!!!
This looks GREAT!! Very organic and threatening. Did u do the hair with Hair department? I´d really like to see a wire with no sub-d. Possible?

#31

i made the hair with solidspline-i’ll post a wireframe later

#32

man, this is gonna be a bunch of work to do. i finished the church a few minutes ago. and i gotta build a lot of other houses and things. but it’s the 10th - that’s gonna be enough time-i think so.

#33

The hair is awesome looking.Great concept.

#34

This is getting to be a beautifull work. Congrats!! But remember! Textures aren’t necessary.

#35

hehe-good aspect ragnarok-but i don’t even think about texturing cause i think that the modelling i still have to do will eat up most of the time left. but i will texture everything for sure-but after the deadline…i guess.

#36

This is freaking cool. Great idea, great concept and great work.

I would only say that the texture on it´s skin is getting a little difficult to see the geometry.

Gooood work.:wip:

#37

damn thats a great idea and a great model :applause:

#38

i have an idea about the village. the shell could be coverd in moss and the settlers could build there houses in to the moss partle to act as a foundation for the structures. sounds tough though

checkout my bob

#39

really cool idea you came up with rizob!
but the problem you already mentioned would be that i yet can’t imagine how to realize the moss. but i’ll try it somehow.

#40

just wanna keep you guys up to date!
so here’s the spring which the villagers need to get the water out of the huge watertanks that are located under the hard outer shell of the BoB.
