Beast of Burden - Character/Contraption - Erilaz

#121

You know, I’m glad this forum exists. I think I’ve mentioned this fact before, but the constant stream of comments and critiques I’ve been receiving have helped me to no end.

neilyB, thanks for convincing me to get rid of that grass! You too Zr0-1. I’ll work a bit more on the mouse soon, but here’s a bit of landscaping!

#122

Deserts are definately the best places to put starving, exhausted creatures…having grass just makes us mad…cos he could eat some! Glad you ditched it…

Your right…the comments we get here do help!:applause: to everybody!

#123

Goodness… Another Humanoid leading a giant Tortoise through the desert. What are the odds???

(I thought I was being really original too)
It looks good though I like the Character.

#124

One starving half mad mouse (who looks a lot less starved than the hare!). I’m feeling a lot better tonight! (although the fever is still raging a bit).

#125

One more post before bed. Not much, just a dead plant.:wip:

#126

Dead anti-gravitational type of plant? Get that fever sorted out and give the mouse some whiskers!

#127

Oh, and play with your camera angles so we can see what you are trying to show us! Forget the scenery, this is not in the list of things to do!

#128

hi erilaz-
YES!!!This is really coming together - great to see!! But now i really miss a water barrel/canister - would they dare crossing the desert without water? I don´t think so! Anyway, you´re doing a marvelous job on this one - considering you beeing feverish and all - fantastic -> i look forward to your next update!

#129

ohhh…ther’s lot of desert in the challenge (kind of easiest modeling? i do like you lol)

the scene is cool but may you take care of lighting? that 'll be great if you make colors lights (one little fallof red and one blue exponent)

take car not making ocean lighting with this technic

you MUST finish the lightsssss !

#130

neilyB: Once again, I agree with you! I’m getting down to some more beasty details, and avoiding lanscape for now. Next few posts will have a couple of close shots for more critiquing.

Pit: You’re right on there about the water. I’ll see what I can do in the time I have remaining… or maybe it could be that they’ve run out of water, and that’s why he’s collapsed? That can be my excuse if I don’t get something in there!

Manicalavera15: If there’s anything I’m good at in 3d, lighting it ain’t!! I’m trying at the moment with a few omnis. I’ll tweak the lighting once I’m satisfied with the modelling. Which may be never!:stuck_out_tongue:

Just filling in some time while I render a close up of some work on the doormouse. It’s taking a while!

#131

Oh dear, that took so long to render. I had ray-traced shadows on. I think i’ll leave those off until final sub.

Some work on the mouse! Still needs more work!:wip:

#132

Some quick readjusting. I realised the clock was sitting up by itself, and over the padlock, so I’ve wedged it under the strap.

#133

A smoothed head.

#134

Say cheeeese!

#135

The head looks so sweet!! - (still think he needs a little tounge sticking out though).
That u thought of the footprints is really cool - like that touch a lot!!! Keep going! :airguitar

#136

Look hare! I’m back!

That’s lookin’ sweet  I was really hoping to be able to finish mine off as well, but shit hit the fan and now i can’t open the goddamn 3dstudiomax4 because of some lame error with c-dilla :frowning:
If I’m lucky I’ll be able to get it working today, but that leaves 1 day for me to fix Bart, and that’s not enough

But you’d better keep this up now! you hare [hear, you… know… eh…]! :stuck_out_tongue:

Off I go to wonderland.

:wavey:

#137

hehe that is lookkin really cool erilaz!! only thing i can crit are the legs of the character on the left. they are a bit too square like. so go on bro!:bounce:

#138

Yay! Crits! Just what I needed! Thanks everyone!

Pit: Thanks man. I don’t think I’ll have time to do a tongue, but I think I prefer him without it. Makes him look a little more pathetic, sort of like he’s breathing shallowly.

three: I can probably help you fix that cdilla problem! We had heaps of probs with it at work, and know most of the fixes now!
Good to see you again. Hope you can finish!

derwolpertinger: Hey, you’re right! I completey forgot to fix up Mr. Hare’s legs! Dang it!

Well people, today I’m not feeling too bad. I think the fever is finally over. I’ve got to go to see my family for Sunday lunch (how traditionalist of me!), but after that I’ll be steaming ahead towards my final submission.

#139

This is what happens when you don’t check your rendering subdivisions when applying selected noise!

My hare has the plague!:scream:

#140

And now, the proper one. I’ve messed up the trousers a bit (on purpose!). Gee, I really hope I get time to finish!:wip:
