Beast of Burden - Character/contraption - DarkMantid
Slowwwwly getting it togeather … I’m thinking about muscles at the moment … Creating realistic musculature aint so easy
This is really coming together. I like the proportions to your model. They seem to have the same relation as they did in the sketch. Sometimes the proportion in a character gets lost in the transition from 2D to 3D but yours is working well. The muscles overall are coming along OK. I think you need to work some more on the area around the elbow though.
Great stuff so far DM! Keep up the good work. ![]()
Thank you ! so much for your encouragement … its just what i need to get my ass into gear !!
Cheers ZrO-1 !!
Sadly not much of an update … but ive been at it for a few hours now trying to get some semblence of musculature happening. Ive come to the conclusion that the back foot needs to be nuked and replaced with something maybe more like my concept drawings… Dunno… Im open to suggestions
Yes good idea with the skulls. Go with that one. It will make your model stand out from the others. There are a lot that look similar. Good work so far
Concerning the back leg: go with what you have in the sketches. they looks a little strange at the moment. not sure why… maybe the heel is too high
I’ve been working a little bit with the back feet and jiggling some of the overall proportion issues … moving onto the hands soon… then the head … then the finer details
AWESOME! Those muscles are fantastic!
I can’t wait for the head and tail work. Really nothing to critique at this stage.
Cooooool!
Here are the fruits of this weekend , I’ve worked a little on the hands and the head , also threw in some skulls for good measure (see next post on page 3 ) … please tell me what you think
That’s a lot of skulls!
Great look. Really nice modelling! How does he stop them from all falling off?
im working on a net for them … annoying to have to make it without opacity/clip maps …
Holy Crap!!! That head is looking absolutely awesome. I’m really diggin all the bony details you’ve got going on. Friggin fantastic stuff so far. I really hope you can finnish it by Sunday.
Great work so far. ![]()

Pectorals and front roughed out … the shoulder and bicep is now broke tho.
Pretty much finished the head … I have the bridle(?) trinkets and rags and such to add ( as per my concepts ) and i want to get a chance to add veins and fine muscle striations and details !! ARRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
ohh yeah and tweak the net for the skulls !!!
ARRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

TRIPLE ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
