Beast of Burden - Character/contraption - DarkMantid

nice concepts

I quite like him carrying the canon, although I like the more detail that the other ones seem to have

I’d say: go for 3d !

I like the beast. If you do the cannon or skull pic (both work for me) maybe you could increase the size of the payload. Many more skulls or larger canon. It would make the image more of a dynamic shape as far as design goes.

Looking good:bounce:

Maybe your friend saw this pick when he gave you the suggestion, if you’ve never seen it, here it is.

It’s a warcraft concept drawing.

Very nice concepts!! I’d have to say that I like the one where it’s carrying the heavy load. There’s a lot you can do with that one.

Better get started on some 3D soon…keep up the good work.

Hmmm I started blocking polygons out … nothing too exciting yet

#18

heheh, I was beginning to think this was a 2D entry :p, nice start

#19

I think you should go with the skulls, it fits the characters looks and it gives the chance for more detail. Cant wait to see more.

Arrh sadly not much time this weekend to work on Bob , still roughing

#21

Looks good man, can’t wait to see it finished.
:buttrock:

Slowwwwly getting it togeather … I’m thinking about muscles at the moment … Creating realistic musculature aint so easy

#23

This is really coming together. I like the proportions to your model. They seem to have the same relation as they did in the sketch. Sometimes the proportion in a character gets lost in the transition from 2D to 3D but yours is working well. The muscles overall are coming along OK. I think you need to work some more on the area around the elbow though.

Great stuff so far DM! Keep up the good work.

#24

Thank you ! so much for your encouragement … its just what i need to get my ass into gear !!

Cheers ZrO-1 !!

#25

Sadly not much of an update … but ive been at it for a few hours now trying to get some semblence of musculature happening. Ive come to the conclusion that the back foot needs to be nuked and replaced with something maybe more like my concept drawings… Dunno… Im open to suggestions

#26

Yes good idea with the skulls. Go with that one. It will make your model stand out from the others. There are a lot that look similar. Good work so far

Concerning the back leg: go with what you have in the sketches. they looks a little strange at the moment. not sure why… maybe the heel is too high

#27

I’ve been working a little bit with the back feet and jiggling some of the overall proportion issues … moving onto the hands soon… then the head … then the finer details

AWESOME! Those muscles are fantastic!

I can’t wait for the head and tail work. Really nothing to critique at this stage.

Cooooool!

Here are the fruits of this weekend , I’ve worked a little on the hands and the head , also threw in some skulls for good measure (see next post on page 3 ) … please tell me what you think
