Beast of Burden - Character & Contraption - Apt Pupil

#81

Shot 4 of 5.

The problem is, there is a 50 k limit. When I post larger pictures, I have to comprimise on the quality yet again. I won’t link it from my hosts site because that is unstable, hence, I am probably going to have to hand in a 640 x 480 image for my final

oh well

#82

pour ton final envoi moi ton image je la mets sur mon site et je te donne l lien comme ca tu pourar avoir une bonne qualitée ,

ton travail est tout simplement fantastique ,vraiment cool je suis bouche b …:buttrock:

Shot 5 out of 5.

#84

I love your stuff. Do you do structural modeling for a living? One thing: Your renders are over saturated and are no doubt killing lots of the detail that you have put in.

#85

Crode --> To answer your question in the shortest way possible, nope. I have yet to ‘look’ for a job in the art industry. Maybe after this contest . . who knows. . . hehehehe sob But it would be nice being paid for my work for once :stuck_out_tongue:
As for my renders, I have been sketching and modelling things for so long (5 month), my color sense went out the window argh I will try something new tomorow. Thanks for the criticism though, I’ll see what I can do.

Piotrek --> I am flatered heheheh, but . . . nope:)

Hexodam --> Thanks for the compliments smiles

neilyb --> patience young man, patience . . .

iC4- --> Thanks for the encouragement. I hope you still like it when I finish it.

Lorenzo --> Yes, many hours. . . I lost count. Since last tuesday, my life became a blur . . . heheheh

Hiko and Maxko Thanks, I really appriciate it.

Well, I will have some new updates tomorow, for now, I begin on the front of the boat excited

Later then . . .

#87

:wip: go go go ! :applause:

#88

Last tuesday, eh? Then you wont have any problems. Your speed is quite amazing, that is something you should stress when applying for jobs.
I agree with Crode, you should do something about the washed out look. Detail is getting lost, but it´s a nice look despite that.

:bounce: :bounce: Y’a pas à dire tu démontes !! 5 étoiles !

#90

OMG you are crazy man ! :applause:

#91

Apt Pupil,
I could host a hi res rendering if you like, just send me an email at czar@centrum.is and I’ll post it here

#92

:argh: :argh: This life modeling is ToUgH!!! Sorry for the lack of updates, but I am having some problems here. But, I finally figured out how to moderately portray folds and hair in at least a half decent way . . . I never modeled a real life character before. The good part is, I guess modeling the man will go faster now that I understand what . . . NOT to do:p

She’s already rigged but she will change colors and I will add additional bump maps to help accentuate her folds.

Thanks guys for the continual support, I really appreciate it. I still got what, three days left, well. . . some of my best work is done in the last minute hehehehe

Hexodam --> Hey, thanks for the generous offer, but I don’t know if I will have the time to render any hi-res renderings for show except for my final. But I really appreciate the offer, Thanks.

#93

Truly inspirational. You work for an architectural firm or something?!!

#94

Well, now that I got the basic things into place, I can commence on finalizing things. (Don’t mind the crappy 30 minutes setup for the figures rigs. I just rigged them so that I can see what the best position would be before I finalize them . . . and I might change their position too:p)

:wip: :wip: :wip: :wip:

#95

Apt Pupil your piece is lookin great!! keep it up, im dying to see this one finished!

#96

That’s fabulous ! love the architectural details and all… tu dois passer beaucoups de temps là dessus…

#97

 your thread

I… I… i heaven’t any words.

#98

Interesting. But aren´t those wings on the wrong side of the keel? Would it not look better if they were sitting on her back? Probably a matter of taste, but it looks a bit wierd.

Have you thought of how you are going to weigh the front of the picture with the same amount of detail as you are going to have in the back? Because I assume you are going to portray your scene from this angle?
A slight bump to show the planks on the boat too?

Good Work!

#99

Mikael P. Patience, you’ll see:) I am aware of just how bad it looks right now, I was hesitant to post it at such an early stage. But, I just thought I’d show you where I am now. (But right now as it stands, yes, wings are running through the keel, dress is not connected to her body, man is missing wings, there is a missing man on the other side of the ship etc. … lots to do :argh: )

As for everyone else, Thanks:)

#100

haha, sorry to be so harsh on you then. I will patiently wait and see.
