That’s why I love this forum…and that is what it is all about anyway…
so anyway…this is about 3.5 hours of back and forth between max and photoshop…all hand painted with my trust wacom tablet…still got about another 3.5 hours to go I would say…blah…blah…blah…listen to me ramble…lol…anyway until tomorrow…later guys and gals!
glad you liked the help
exactly what I wanted to see! BIG improvements! I like the way you’ve mixed the “round” bumps with the rest. the part over the eyes is superb ![]()
and it looks much better with nostrils! good work Berserker, good!
Wow! You have done quite a bit of work since the last time I checked. The latest bump is definitely a plus. Very nice work!![]()
Awesome BoB! The love of detail with the harness and the strong looking beast fit each other exceptionally well. One mroe to add to my list of favourites…
Now This is the reason i wanted to get into CG, this is some of the best stuff ever. The simplicity with which you do all of this is amazing.
LOVE YOUR WORK MAN!!!
MORE, MORE
:applause: the new bump map is a great great improvement Bezerker!!! This is geting better and better!!!
Ok so, an advice, try to give a second pass to the bump map, BUT this time with the harness. Wearing the harness produce some folds in some areas. And you can optimize your effort, i mean the work you did in the bump for the top of the head is awesome, but useless because of the harness covering this part.
Keep going!! This is becoming really exiting!!

Excellent job! Hes looking really great! I do agree with Fedron however and think you need to add a little more depth to the leather. I dont think this would necessarily require a ton of work, to at least fake and add a little more interest to the material. Often leather goods like this, they use various thickness in the leather weight, depending on how much pressure is going to be applied to the piece. So, if just certain areas were thickened up, it could be enough, to add a bit a variation and believability to the harness. Also, the harness looks like it would be attached quite firmly and your bob, doesnt exactly look thrilled about it, maybe add a little detail in areas where it would be tight and pulling on his skin. And definitely take advantage of your lighting idea, even if you dont darken the scene much!
Well, Ive got a quick project to whip out in a couple of days, then though, I think youve inspired me, although Id be starting late, you havent been working on it all that long and yours looks great, so if I can find the time, I think I need to jump in too! Good luck to you, keep it up!
Hehe… just watched clerks the other day, Bezerker; your name inspired from their death metal song in the movie?
hey guys thanks for the great feedback this is what I was looking for…I will try and post some updates tonight if I have time…
Rhid1en: My name is actually partly insipered by clerks…but mainly cause my last name is Zurcher pronounced (Zerker) and I was a little nutty and did a few crazy things in college and my buddies used to call me Bezerker…I think they were part insipered by clerks though! so anyway that’s the origin!
Daxx:??? Too Human Shape???:curious:
k-well I finally finished a landscape for this guy…anyway…here are two composites…I tried to render them in one scene but it was taking forever to render so I just rendered them separately and overlay the beast in…also did a little touch up…this is just for fun…final submission will probably be just gray scale no colors…or are we allowed to use colors? hmmm…well here are two variations anyway…and a wire of the background! ![]()
Awesome stuff Bezerker! I think both of those images are really awesome, but I think the red one “pops” more. This piece is really fantastic looking. :applause:
I vote for the red one also, I like how the cool skin tone plays against the red landscape. I really like this, great work.:applause:
