Beast of Burden - Character - Beroc-LOD

#21

hey your BoB looks veeery good. but somehow i don’t like the truck. i think it is way too much saturated and looks too new to be in a desert. maybe you should make him look older with some modelled bumps and a bump map for sure. cause right now the truck and the BoB somehow don’t fit together very well.
that’s it, but as i said i love your BoB!! (hmmm…is it allowed to marry a BoB at all??:D) i’m lookin’ forward to an update bud!

Hey beroc, that truck is awesome!!! Man it looks great. It would have taken me all challenge long just to model that with half the details you have going.
And that pic where the beast and truck are together looks really cool also. I’m sorry I don’t have any crits. I think everything looks great so far.

Heh… I have enough crits of my own for all of ya, but the truck, which is not finished, will be mapped and detailed way more then what you see… still just under two weeks to go, next week will be dovoted to finishing the truck, and mapping it out right, but it will look old and rusty by the end, I do have some questions about the desert background, as some people here who are much better then me at mapping… I want the background to have tons of detail like different ground covers and stuff, and figure the best way to do it is by procedural blends, kinda mixing back and forth, is there any key to it, or do you use a map which has certian area’s blocked off and mix it? What are the best types of maps to use, are there any in Max 3 which could benefit in making ground effects, or am I stuck with making a huge bitmap for the background?

Lots of questions for a non mapped contest I know, but shoot, I might as well make it look good in the end…

Thanks guys,

It’s been a while since I have done any real skinning for a model, but I am sure that this will do for a bit, there are some extra’s I want to add to it, but it is gettin done…
