Okay, come from a c4d background where the backfaces, i.e sides opposite the normal, are visable unless you select otherwise. Now that I can point model well enough in modo, thank god for that, i have found that when rotating in perspective view around the back of my polys kills the shading and it goes to wireframe only view. Now I am wondering 1. is there a way to turn this off and 2. is this expected does modo really not give me visable backfaces?
Backfaces?

Click the ‘double-sided’ box in the material editor. You can view double-sided polys on a material by material basis.

Hmm, so this means i have to keep my viewports in texture view? So I can’t get for instance, gooch tone shading to recognize both sides?

Double-sided works for everything except Solid and Vertex Map for me. Gooch works. Might be a graphics card thing.
