B-Movie Entry: Tomasz Jedruszek

#15

Not only is this an original and stunning image, it’s also quite heart warming too.

I think it’s safe to say that this is the only entry I’ve seen that comes off as heart warming…what have you done!

Beautiful job.

Software: Photoshop

9 sqr meters production is a small , in fact 3 persons only studio, making b-movies in a room 3x3 meters . Not really proffessional way ,not really good quality ,but the most important is they enjoy that job a lot and each one of them gives as much talent as skill as they can.

That is my simple story for this chellenge , I hope to get some more time and entry to video section too , after all you are all probably dieyig to see this " The revenge of the turtle-Shaped Cokies Eater’s Mother " movie.

#17

You have a nice style. I really like how this looks, but I think it’s not exciting enough for a movie poster.

#18

Tomasz, I like how this ended up, and the rendering is top notch as usual. Reminds me of how I make art (craped quarters, surrounded by my little family. ) Wouldn’t want it any other way.

#19

Cool idea and it so amazing that you can manage to finish whole illustration in such short time. Great faces expression especially the painter guy.

#20

Congratulations! Well you sure followed your heart and made a unique, interesting and touching image with a completely different take on B-movies. Great figures and capturing of the light.

#21

you continue to amaze

#22

Wonderful painting and on my top 3 list! I love it! Wish you good luck!

First I want to congratulate you for finishing a great image. Your technique and idea are both very good!
But there’s one thing I really dislike: the process. From the instructions page:

How the Challenge will be run
This challenge will be a WIP (Work in Progress) Challenge to ensure everyone can learn from each other and offer feedback and critiques. Each challenger or team is required to submit Work In Progress (WIP) images.

  1. Enter the Challenge by registering yourself as a CGTalk or CGSociety member.
  2. Submit your Work In Progress on a regular basis.
  3. Participate in the Community by critiquing other challenger’s works in the respective forums.

As much as I like your image, I could not say I learned anything from your process, which is one of the main points of those challenges. 95% of the people here were posting a ton of images that described the whole process. We can learn so much from those! It’s a 2 months exchange, where we comment on each other’s threads, get suggestions to improve our works etc. I think it’s a little unfair when someone skips this whole process, again, one of the main points of those competitions. It’s almost like you rushed to post a couple of wip images just to meet the “deliverables” but had no interest sharing your technique, that’s the way I feel about it.

In the future, please “participate”. I’m sure the result will be just as great or better, but other people will benefit from your experience… and you will feel good about sharing as well
My 2 cents.

multiple wips entries are because cgchallenge uploader denied to uplad my
final image because of 500kb limit. once I passed that one i finally uploaded it. then I realized it need some more detail work so I did upload another one and probalby another one - nothing which wouldnt be absoulutelly necesairly, I can a sure you.not my fault the all apears in this threat, though uploader will replace older versions…

also as for speed, well it is already commonly known I work fast ,besides I really do not much have time ,and it is not even because of my work but recently I have to spend lots of time with my family, which I do not regred at all,yet participate in challenges might be tricky.so please excuse me this time …

and finally ,if anyone suffer because I didnt share much of my process…please do visit my other challenges entries,my website (currently under reconstruction but wehn ready will offer lots of great never revelead materials to learn) ,my magazine;s workshops ,interviews ,there is really tons of usefull stuff there ,and my procress didn’t change since then much .you realy have not point to complain on lack of such materials it is just a matter of find them somewhere else

besides I do not belive posting step by step images can help anyone, even video is usually useless ,most of times people watching them may only say “yup, HE can do it” but cannot apply the same methods to their workflow. more helpful is selfteaching by practiceing

Wow a ruler over the knuckle spanking for Morano! Where did that come from? It took me back to the knuckle spanking I would get from my grade school teacher who was a nun for not following exactly
word for word an assignment, with the big blackboard of rules right in front of me! I sure feel for ya Marono!
Again, Wow! - dreif
By the way, really nice piece Marano

Wow! Someone trolling without actually adding anything to the conversation! Where did that come from?

Morano,
alright. Different way to see it I guess.

edit: I did a short articel here and I lost it by clicking something on my keyboard…I will try to recover it as much as I remeber,so

you probably right but I dont think I am wrong either . I just dont believe watching someone finishing from sketch to final will solve anything , if that would be true I would be probably better than Brom or Gimenez already ,but I am not ,so it is not that easy right? there is lots of aspects of this game far more important than just good polishing details skills and I m trying to explain that in huge article about how my award winning “Icarus Day”
been produced, it will be published with the larger book soon. I/m ready to face fact that most of people probably wont even understant what I m talking about there ,but from the other hand there will be lot of people who will learn a lot just from examine my final image in close zoom and that is atleast someting I can provide with a help of this threat so i belive I 've done for teaching this time. if someone waht to learn he will , even I woudl post just final version , I did it for years myself, examining paintings of masters in museums or books, most of cases it was like trying to find a track in a blizzard only knowing there is a light somewhere. If I have Malczewski’s WIP to study would it help? again, It could be exciteing and interesting ,but would not repleace or for better word save me from houndreds of hours me standing at the desk and painting myself one image after another.

besides I do participate in this challenge since the first day ,only for most of time I just wathced other entries trying to figureout my own idea for challenge -and I alreay said that in my first post here , this challenage wasn’t easy but finally I got my idea so started to paint. for me those few words about how I figureout my own idea, why it should be different then others -woudl be priceless If I be some beginner trying to learn, for others those are just “blah blah” word and do care only for final piece.just the same I decided posting my finishing step by step would be just “blah blah” and waste of time to save screens while only few hours to deadline left. you really believe if I post 7 hours 1:1 video how I finishing this image would teach anything anyone? Watching me taking different poses on a chair trying to fight with the pain in my…back ,scratching the head ,eating cookies ,dink beers ,filling canvas with pixels - you really think that is educational anyway? I do personaly interested how the book …for example “game of throne” been written , but in therms ,how the characters, worlds ,events been mixing in author’s iagination and translated into smeting we can acctually read… Im not really interested if GRR Martin types with two fingers or full hands or if he smoke or drink durring that process

for my final word to all of you guys who watch : most of you know I am always ready to answer if you have any question about how I made this or that , I always provide ,sketches, references ,brushes etc etc those who doesn’t know that …so now you know
