B-Movie Entry: Semih Yaman

#101

Thank you Fernando, for the kind words. Yeah, I will have to add some sctructure and detail to the robot arm. The first version looked more steam punkish, perhaps this should be more the direction.

#102

Some more dynamic Ninja Posing.

#103

Played with the title a little… revenge is a popular theme when its about Ninjas. Or its the sequel to Attack of the Space Zombie Ninjas. Dont know what Im going to choose as final title.

Integrated the new Ninja poses and 3D version of Huxley in the layout, added a second Katana for Chika and Jack is now able to shoot lightnings from his robot arm.

Also Im trying to get more depth and drama by making Joes weapon come closer to the viewer.

#104

Integrated Joes 3D Head+Hair and tank top in the layout, lot of small changes, color and light improvements.

The tank top is still far from what I want it to look and Im having a really hard time getting Chikas 3D hair to work like its supposed to.

#105

A more graphical version of the layout more in the spirit of older SciFi Posters.

Thats it for now with the layout part, Im now moving on finalising the characters and working on poses and clothing.

#106

Hey Semih, your little aliens look great, very nice poses!

A single suggestion for the Chika pose: i think her other leg should be also visible (at least a little bit) - because of the empty space there, but also because of having already the left guy shoing one leg only.

Wishing you good work!

#107

Thanks my friend! Thats another very true thought… how much to show of which character and good size relations, is one point I´m still working on. Perhaps there is a pose for Chika that looks good with her feet closer together, so she fills more space.

The other thing is, I´m still trying to place some SZNs in the foreground where the title is, but perhaps this doesn´t really come across and makes it difficult to read. Still lots of small decisions to make and some more nonsense to add.

#108

… I can not say looks amazing:wise:…Really B-grade…

All the best…:wavey:

#109

Hey Semih,

Cool updates, like a lot that little ninja creatures, great “maniac” expression on them  Nice work!
Waiting for more updates!

#110

Thanks for your comment sylvexsan

Thank you very much Fernando. Yeah, they´re small evil Ninja maniacs

Not much to show at the moment, doing UV finalising and some skinning refinement…

#111

Finalising Joes UVs, still some more finetuning to do, but almost completed.

#112

First clean version of the tattoo, still some anatomy improvements to do and hair also needs some more work.

#113

Still sculpting and fleshing out the Tattoo.

#114

!!The first full 3D version of the Movie Poster!!

Everything that will be 3D in the final is now. Joes hands arent rigged yet, thats why he doesnt really hold the chainsaw.

Theres still lots of stuff to do… refining clothing, poses and some more modeling, but the hardest part is done.

#115

Hey Semih,

Cool model for Joe Endzeit  The tattoo is a cool touch .
Perhaps the red cone of beam light can be translucent to show a bit the background and put more on perspective de image, only a comment.
Cool work and waiting for more updates. Cheers!!

#116

Thanks Fernando, I also liked the more transparent versions from before, but now the beam has more of a retro look and gives a better contrast, what is also nice.

The degree of stylisation in general is something I play around a lot with. The whole poster can look more realistic or graphic or be a mix of both and though the content mainly stays the same, the feel changes.

Great examples of this mix are movie posters like Death Proof, Planet Terror, Kill Bill… I really love that striking look.

#117

Great work Semih! This poster is really shaping up. It really has a B movie feel to it (can’t believe I’m saying that to someone and mean it as a compliment…lol). The only direction I’d like to offer is for you to add more contrast… ie. darker shadows to the carachters. The zombies looks great tho!

Regards
Giom

#118

Hehe! the chainsaw massacre…

I think the dog would be better on the right of the poster looking right, to separate the eyeglasses of man and its of dog.

Regards.

Marc.

#119

Thanks Giom, for the kind compliment! About the contrast/shadows… I´ll look into that. In the beginning I thought about lighting the main character only with backlights and a very dimmed front light for a dramatic and mysterious look, than I found it not suitable for a movie poster, but perhaps I should try that.

Thanks karko, hehe… yes when the center of attention in your renders is a huge chainsaw with a lensflare on it, you know why you spent years learning all the software.

The position of the dog may be varied in later versions, I think it looks just funny and stupid having the master and his dog standing near each other both wearing sunglasses, also compositon wise this adds balance to the massive chainsaw!!

#120

Tried to make it look more kitschy by making the chainsaw even bigger and the SZN too, so they look a little more dangerous.

Mirrored Joes Head in PS, its more of a hero pose this way and changed the tagline.

Now all rigging and skinning has to be completed, poses need to be refined, some more modeling to do and propper fonts to find… as I said before, the hardest part is done… haha, oh man.
