IMHO the video frame is not a good idea. To me its technical look hurts the atmosphere, the “painting”-like feel and colours. It also cuts through nice details, like the picture on the wall or the monster from the air duct. But maybe that’s just me.
I don't think you have to stick too literal to the "movie" in "b-movie". I'd think that subjects worthy of a b-movie can also be covered here. Many entries do not literally depict a movie shooting or poster. Girls fighting an invasion of monsters is definitively b-movieish in itself.
But if you want to go for a movie shooting, I think the boom mic in the scene or the zipper of a costume showing are subtle hints and very plausible for a b-movie. The camera frame (of a battery-run run amateur cam) and an actor putting his costume on in front of the camera is not (though the costume design is great!). But that is just my opinion. And it's your creation after all.
But anyway I hope the three sisters survive the monster plague! Go get them, girls

Yeah the frame thing wasn’t good idea. Also I have noticed someone else doing exacly the same thing with frame so I dropped that idea. But I kept my actor on the costume on far left of the corner. That could help b-movie vibe just a little bit I think. Once again thx and stay alive.
