B-Movie Entry: Matthieu Deltour

#41

wow, hu, really? thanks a lot man…
now I just hope I’ll manage to finish this chalenge, I’m really scared of the girl modeling…

#42

Looks great! I love the idea and the concept art
Keep up the great work!

#43

By the way, my wife was looking over my shoulder while I posted here yesterday and she was like: ‘wait…scroll up again … NICE SHOES!’
So I can confirm with some authority that you got those right!

#44

thanks AdrianLazar!!

archaeotect, hehe, cool. my girlfriend like them too, but I just discovered after making them that they are actually Carla Bruni's shoes... hope our dear French president will not put me to jail for borrowing his wife's shoes accidentally... :D

#45

Haha this is so awesome! the detail and lighting are great!

#46

Hi.
This is a pose test for the finished robot, I will still tweak it before rendering and I’m not sure about the focal length and have to try some others…

Hope you’ll like it!!
I’m sooo scared, just 8 days left and my girl is not even modeled…
but anyway that challenge was and still is so great even if tiring and stressing and it was really fun…
see you soon

#47

Sigh… my robot’s getting an inferiority complex right now. Seriously, great work.
Now we’re all eager to see the girl! Don’t panic, I’ll bet she’ll be great!

#48

hey, please don’t let you robot get an infferiority complex, it’s really different, in yours you can just see, in a good way, that’s its an actor under the metal body and that’s kind of cool and really fits the B movie topic!
and thanks again for your comment, and I’ll try to finish the girl this week end, If I manage to do it I’ll be able to finish the challenge, if not I’ll just become really stressed!

#49

Brilliant! I absolutely love this guy… Don’t worry about the woman, you’ve got a whole 7 days to get her sorted

#50

hi!

so this morning, I guess I was at last enough stressed to begin at last (again) the head of my pinup…

so here she is, I don’t really like to post something I just made, especially if it’s just my second girl head but, anyway I don’t have time anymore, so let’s do it, I hope she’s fine and please please please, feel free if you have any critic or comment…

thanks!

#51

here is the side view.
on this view she’s kind of inspired of Rachel in blade runner, played by Sean Young, the scene where she untied her hair to be more precise. But I guess I just put a little of Natalie Portman?s cheeks unconsciously…

#52

and finally the 3/4 view.

oh yeah and by the way, thanks AJ!! I hope now I’ll continue on this rithme the whole week end and finish my pinup…

#53

no replies?
anyway, here is the girl body and head assembled.

#54

and the front view

#55

She looks good, as expected
Human anatomy really isn’t my area so I’m afraid this intuitive impression is all I can give you.
I’ll bet she’ll really come to life once you pose her. And if you do as good a job on her clothes (on second thought, why…:D) and hair as you did on body and shoes so far, she’ll be stunning.
What will you use for the hair, by the way?

#56

hi again.
here is a hastily textured pinup…
and I hope the shader is not That bad?

and thanks again archaeotect for your king words.
Actually, the hair is the part that will surely not be done at the end of this challenge…

no, more seriously, I never made any hair directly in maya before, so I have two options,
first, I do some attached hair style like those of rachel in blade runner and I can just do it with polygons or long hair like in my concept and this will be pure photoshop painting…
another problem, I like the long hair I made in my concept but don’t like their blond color, I did that just to be able to see them in front of the dark robot arm… I would prefer to make a brunette… to be contined…

edit: argh… the bump is not that bad on my computer, this was just too much sharpeded by the challenge uploader, sorry…

#57

great work! I like ur style a lot!

#58

hey there.
so, skining is done…

but… I’ll will never be able to meet the deadline on time, I have still so much stuff to do…

#59

but… I’ll will never be able to meet the deadline on time, I have still so much stuff to do…

Aww come on! That would be such a pity! Can’t you throw it all into a slightly changed composition, just to show off what you already got and hide what you haven’t? For example let the robot carry the girl in a way that her hair etc. is not visible, like in its clenched fist or over its shoulder, so we only see her legs dangling. Improvise :arteest:

#60

uh, I don’t know… I don’t really want to change the composition. I’m right now fighting with the robot hand to make everything fit in the frame.

but, still, I have to do the girl’s dress, pose her, think about the hair, make all the renders knowing that I can’t render the theatre in just one scene because it just crashes… and I would have liked to spend some time tweaking the lights before launching the renders as I never put everything in the same scene since the beginning… well, still some little problems to fix…
