What the…! Damn you are fast. Chimp looks fantastic. Looking forward to the alien with laser beams coming out his eyes.

I’m really glad you chose a Bonobo. They are so overshadowed by their cousins the chimps, and they’re way smarter too.
Nice work on the model, and hella fast. You got a monkey in the closet you pull out for reference for just such occasions?

MAn…i hate u…u are so natural at this…monkey’s face is simply on the spot.
(…i am gonna lose again…boohoohoo)
:bounce: Jaaahoohoo… this´ll be more like a step-by-step Tut. Fantastic! Thanks a bunch!
Aaaaand we’re all screwed - Hooray!
Seriously, the bonobo is looking amazing… I think this ‘hating you’ thing is going to catch on!

Wow, really great work, the chimp looks super nice, and youre ide is tatally cool.
Can´t wait to see how this turns out.
Hope you have the time to finish this.
Hey! Thank you so much guys!
This is actually a bonobo, not a chimp. Bonobos are smarter, their proportions are more elegant, much closer to human proportions than chimps. They have smaller heads and their arms look more like human arms… and they are extremely horny! Maybe that’s why the pin-up girl is all over our super hero, uh?
This is my very first attempt to model a primate and still looking for more and more references (mostly bonobos standing up, so I can see their proportions better). At this point, other than face, proportions are kinda made up, which is not cool…
I’ll post the pin-up doll in progress now, before I go to bed…

here’s the pin-up I started on Sunday and did more work tonight. Still not very happy with it but it’s a start. It’s based on the pin-ups by Gil Elvgren, one my favorite pin-up artists of all time.

CRAZY CRAZY CRAZY! Add me on the list of haters!
Guess the rest of us are gunning for runner up
Amazing work as always!
The close up looks great, but the 2 images, from farther away…I don’t know, it seems off in some way that I cant put my finger on. It might be the jaw, but I'm just not sure. It might also just be the fact that she's bald. Dont take my word for it, though. I’m not the best critic when it comes to subtleties. Anyway, amazing progress. And yes, Elvgren’s work is incredible, and she’s definitely got the look.

Well it’s one hell of a start…
Damn, I know I’m not going to be able to beat you - but it’s going to be fun trying!
I completely agree with you. I noticed the same thing when I saw the thumbnail. It’s a start and there are things I like in it but I need to do a lot of work on her face before I’m happy with it. I never use blue prints on my personal work and that costs a lot of re-work normally, but that’s the only way I will learn and understand the subtleties. I think the problem is both with her chin and head shape. Cropping into her face she looks alright but when you see the whole head it does look kinda weird…
Thanks!

I forgot to mention that both models were started from the same base mesh that is based on a very old model, but has a reworked topology.
