B-Movie Entry: Jonathan Clark

#21

Brilliant model… My only criticism is that it looks much higher quality than any b-movie I’ve seen!

#22

Very nice initial concept sketch and the ZBrush model is looking great! :arteest:

#23

I like the character a lot…Great work so far!

#24

Looking wonderful!
I beleive that as some have pointed out it looks more like a rat man than a Hyena, most likely due to the way the snout is handled. However as I think about it, you may be on the right track as I’ve never seen a hairless hyena before and animals(and anthropomorphics) tend to look much different when they’re hairless. I certainly think that the texture will help a lot and if you add that infamous hyena mohawk most have it will most likely remove all possible doubts.

#25

Hey this is dope - can I ask what your polycount is and what subdiv level you went to? ZBrush novice so finding out the do’s and don’ts at the moment.

#26

Really great character! I love the idea of a hyena monster, since its not being used before (at least I don’t know about it, hehe). Cant wait to see it textured with all that ugly hair and spots… Keep up the great work! I’ll be watching this thread closely

#27

Coming out very well. I must admit, I did think it was a rat before I saw it was a hyena, but it could be either. I really like the wrinkles in the pants.

#28

Possible pose maybe? Debating on the lighting whether I want daylight or studio lighting. Thx for all the comments guys!

#29

working on the torso now. The lighting is decent. Still needs a lot of detail.

#30

Here’s a larger view of it. Soon I will add a woman in there somewhere.

#31

Looking nice! I have 1 question: Are you using displacement or just decimate the geometry and go for it?

Thx

#32

Ppzek-Hi. No, I’m not using displacement yet but I will. I also didn’t use decimate from zbrush either. Right now it’s just a normal map and I’ll post the wire image for you can see what I’m talking about.

#33

Nice sculpt, can’t wait to see the girl.

#34

All I can say is COOOOL!

Question: What render are you using?

#35

Looking cool man! Keep up the good work! :wip:

#36

He’s looking really good. I’m just wondering about the spelling of hiena. I know the word can be spelled slightly different in different languages and countries, but I always thought hyena with a y was more common. I may be wrong.

#37

Very well done, I’m like the anatomy of the Hyena Man…look forward to seeing the finished product…

#38

Working on the pose of the woman in my scene. Not sure if I’m going to keep her that close to his crotch though.

#39

Your piece is coming along nicely. The sculpts are wicked!

If I could make a humble critique: The forearms of the hyena look a little short, and his head is poking out pretty far forward, it might be more menacing if his chin is tucked more. (it will keep that C curve cleaner too)

Excited to see more!

Nice posing and composition! I’m not sure but maybe you should try to turn camera to the left a little.
Good luck to you!
