B-Movie Entry: Imkan Hayati
StayFrosty: Thanks for the compliments
JUDZIGN: Thanks, yeah would be a cool scene Chicken vs Chicken
Eskarina: Love your entry!! Thanks for the compliments.
Headsmell & Russel-Nash: Thanks!!
Well, I have finally came up with the name for my B-Movie: Chic Kong :D, and I have added it to my scene!!
I also added some subtle detail to the main building, and added window lights and extra spots, so a bit more light work really, my next aim is to finish modelling the helicopter, and get it into the scene, also will try to work on some sky/cloud textures.
Well finally got the chopper modelled. I have made it relatively low poly since it is a distant prop.
I have got it into the main scene, and textured. However I have a little bit of lighting work still to do, and then will post a updat of the whole scene.
The helicopters are in the scene and textured, and lit. I am working on the rotor blades, getting some motion blur on them, got one blade motion blurred for now.
The sky is now in too, tried to get a nice soft glow at the top of the skyscrapers.
So next will try to tidy up the last bits. and get onto the Chicken again, YAY!!!
hey!!..very cool idea man! really like what youre doing so far, keep on the good work! :buttrock:
Hey Paper boy,
The building and lights look fantastic, great ambient in the scene. Maybe the helicopter beams can have a touch of blue color or orange, not pure white, more a wish than a critic
Greay work and waiting for more!! cheers! ![]()
Thanks guys for the kind words in your comments.
The last few days I didn’t so much time to work on it, and also I have been struggling with a few elements. Animating the rotor blades, which i finally managed to do in Modo. The main issue was the pivot point/centre always seems to reset itself to the origin, anyway some how it works now.
I did some lighting work too, I changed the beams from the choppers to a more blue tone (I agreed with you Ferx ;)) I also added some Light pollution from the city below the skyscrapers, and I think this helps bring out the buildings from the scene more. The final bit of lighting is on the helicopters, just so they show up a bit better.
My 2nd issue has been posing the chicken, it’s a tougher pose than I thought, and doing it in ZBrush has been a nightmare. So went back to the base mesh and split it into sections, and positioned them in the places as the template model, and will weld the mesh and fix issues.
So hopefully will get the pose finished this evening, and start sculpting and maybe even lighting the chicken.
Oh yes, Aven99: I decided to go for Chic Kong, because it works well with the K from Chick being the start of the Kong word
I really like it so far. I can definatly see how that position would give you trouble with the chicken. I cant wait to see more!
I have finally got the Chicken in it’s main pose and finally the Low Poly Version is in the main scene!!! I also did a first pass of lighting the chicken, and through finally getting her in, I can see isses to fix, like the wing covering the chopper, the beam of light form the distant chopper disappears behind.
Also one of the toes doesn’t really work, so another to fix. I still need to open the beak up, which I will do in ZBrush, finally to give her some detail and clean up. I had to rotate the head already differentally to the origianl so you can an eye.
So more Chicken Work to come
Hey Paperboy,
Looking rally nice. Like a lot the claws holding the building and the rised wing, cool pose.
The choppers beams look great
Great work, Chic Kong is a creepy menace for sure
Cheers!!
Ferx: Glad you like how it’s shaping up, I hope it still feels creepy with feathers and when textured.
PeterPuppet: Thanks
aradarena: Thanks too
Well, I have finally got the final pose and did some detail work, to get some muscle and fat structure to the chickens body, still a way to go. I don’t want to detail the body too much, since I want to add feathers. So the higher res model is now in the scene as a test.
I also got the eyes textured, I need to work on the shader values to get a bit of gleaming.
Also I got the tongue positioned better.
So, I will try to do some more fixes, and hope to work on the tongue and feathers next, before continuing on with the body and texturing the chicken.
I’ve been working the past few days also in refining both what the feel and look and final poster should be like, and also what the background story is.
Today I have been mainly working on detailing the tongue of the chicken (although it’s not in the scene yet).
STORY:
The year is 1923, in a small farm on the outskirts of New York City; a farmer by the name of George McClure goes about his business as usual.
A truck arrives at the farm, delivering a new batch of fertiliser, and George off loads 6 barrels, which he takes and deposits in the Chicken shed.
Unknown to George, the fertiliser contains a high percentage of Toxic and Radioactive material, used to encourage increased growth of crops, and one of the barrels had been damaged on transit and was leaking large amounts of the substance into one of the chicken pens feeding trays.
The helpless chicken living in the pen, hungrily kept on eating from its trough, and slowly a mutation was taking place. The Hen was growing larger and larger, and it?s feathers was slowly being shed, the Farmer freaked out not knowing what to do, he rushed out to get his axe to slaughter the Giant Chicken, by this time the Chicken had grown to be the size of the shed and had already devoured it?s Chicken friends.
As George ran back to the shed, the Chicken burst out of the shed destroying it, and using it?s newly acquired long tongue grabbed the Farmer and crushed him to death.
Soon, stories of this Giant Chicken spread like wild fire, and soon people wanted to see this Chic Kong as it was now called. A crazy business tycoon by the name of Eric Fudge decides that by capturing Chic Kong and bringing him to New York, he can get people to pay for the spectacle and make lots of money.
So he sets out with a team of hunters on an expedition to capture Chic Kong, which they manage to do after having a few team members squished, by using large canisters of sleeping gas fired in the vicinity of the Giant Chicken.
It is then taken on the back of a large trailer to New York, where it is chained up inside a Grand Theatre in Time Square.
The unveiling of Chic Kong was going to plan, until the curtains were opened and people started taking pictures. The Camera Flashes enraged the Chicken who with great effort broke the chains that fettered him and broke loose. The people panicked as Chic Kong?s tongue lashed out and it tore its way out of the theatre and onto the streets.
The military were called in to deal with this irregular situation. By the time they arrived on the scene Chic Kong had found itself a very attractive Blonde hostage, grabbing her off the streets with its tongue. It had also found a nice perch to which it could try and protect itself, The Empire State Building!!
Now choppers were brought in to take on this menace, and so Chic Kong placed his feminine hostage safely to one side, so that it could concentrate on its flying assailants. Unfortunately for it, the choppers were too many and the injuries it was sustaining from the guns was too much for its pimpled skin to take, and it succumbed to it?s injuries and fell all the way down from the top of the building to the ground, dead.

I think this will be verry cool!
