B-Movie Entry: Fernando Porcel

#161

I really like this composition! You got the action pose for the Luchador, and you can see the tentacly arm much more clearly than you could when it was wrapped around the lady who was blocking the transition point between arm and tentacle. And I think it fits a b-movie more to have a mad scientist and a bulky henchman as two separate characters. Usually the evil genius isn’t also the muscly mutant.

My one small crit is that the tentacle arm is working too hard to avoid “bumping into” the evil bad-guy’s head, and instead is covering up too much of the Luchador’s legs. Try curving that whole lright arm down more, more out of the way of Luchador’s legs and behind the scientist’s head. It’ll add more depth to see the the 2 parts (head and arm) overlapping and something that tentacly needs a nice elegant curve to really help sell it anyhow.

…And after that, well, at least you have your colors mostly all picked out and can get jamming. Good luck!

Whoah! Another composition! But it’s a good one. Very strong. The vertical format is a nice choice

#163

This is the best composition so far I think.
Looking good.
I would like the to see the flying wrestler looking a little more like he is really jumping from the skyscraper… but am excited to see this flesh out…
what kind of lighting are you thinking of?

Semih - Thanks for your comment and encouragement, appreciate it  Cool suggestion, I try to use the colors of the “ajolote mutante” image, thanks for point that.

Paperboy - Thanks mate, gald that you liked. You are right, think will be very difficult to finish the image on time :frowning: but I try for sure

Matt - Thanks my friend for your kind words and support. Cheers!!

Marco - Thanks friend! happy that you liked this new composition. Belive it or not , I´m trying a new one composition… hahahaha  Thanks again for your support!

Michael - Really thanks for your suggestions and comment, always really useful. Again you are right  and again taking note on your points  Thanks for the support ! Cheers!!

Mark - Thanks buddy for your encouragement!! and glad that you liked this new composition. For this challenge I wanted to use a horizontal composition, but it seems the vertical is the good one…

Aleks - Thanks for your comment mate. You have a really good point, no indication that “Luchador” has jumped from somewhere… looks a bit odd… mmmmm … I hesitate again… mmmmm ok… need another composition…

Steve - Thanks mate for your words, I really appreciate it. Cheers!!

… a new composition !!

Aleks (Karmakat) point to me that ‘Luchador’ looks that jump from nowhere… and yes, looks a bit odd, and again I hesitate about the composition… hahahaha…

Ok, this is the new one, a very rough sketch in a very rough gray scale values.
I try again a horizontal composition and now the viewer accompanies ‘Luchador’ in his fight against evil. In the other composition, the viewer was more in the side of the damsel in distress

Hope this one be the last

This one’s good too. But I’d favour your previous comp. It had a more dramatic angle in it.
Either way, I’m sure it’ll turn out great.

#168

Hello

This last composition is the one I like the most.

Bye.

#169

Levels of your is good. But,in my opinion, the man in the forground would be darker.
No time to much now.Hurry up man.
Cheers!!!.

That’s some very skillful perspective you’ve got going on there. I like that last one but don’t forget the cheesy, it’s looking too big-budget for b-movie at the moment!

#171

I personally think that the previous composition was much more dramatic and that the low angle was a lot more fun. You’re worried about where he’s jumping from? Why? Because Luchador films and B-movies in general always have to make perfect sense?
Keep coming up with new compositions and you’re not going to have any time for the actual coloring and painting! Good luck with whatever you decide, or with coming up with new compositions!

#172

Greetings Fernando - Your worms-eye-view and bird’s-eye-view both look great! I like the birds eyes setting, it looks more like a B-movie evil setting. You should make your pick today and get going on your rendering!

#173

Hey Ferx,

Another great composition of the characters!! I look forward to seeing a final painting from you mate, hope you choose one soon!!

#174

Pick one a go with it. It woudl be sad to me if you did not finish when your work here is so good.

#175

Great concept piece with a nice composition. Maybe try pushing the perspective a bit to make the luchador bigger. I think it would make that jumping luchador look more powerful.

#176

Hei Fer;
Interesting study of both horizontal and vertical comps, they both have very strong sides and angles, very difficult to choose which! I’m sure you will pick the best one in the end!
Hehe, I’m liking that high jump better and better!
Cheers and good luck!

hahaha…yet another one?..pff man u have lots of nice ideas!, i love all the action u have in the last one, but kinda llike more the one before this one, i think walrus made some good points :arteest: :arteest:

Mickarrow - Thanks for your words and support, really appreciate it.

David - Thanks mate, glad that you liked the last composition

Weerawan - Thanks!! You are right and I´m taking note on your suggestion

Simon - Thanks and really glad that you liked the concept. You are totally right, I need to put the cheesy touch on the image. Thanks again for dropping by. Cheers!!

Michael - Thanks for all the support and encouragement. Yes, you are right, and have good points, you convinced me, I´m going for the previous composition  Thanks again for the support.

Ralph - Thanks my friend for your words. Yes, no more time for doubt  I´m make my call , going for the worm-eye perspective.

Paperboy - Thanks friend. Glad that you liked the composition

Daniel - Thanks mate for your support. I promise to finish, think I have some time to finish the concept (come the sleepless and a lot of coffee :D)

Kelly - Thanks for your words and suggestion. Glad that you liked the concept.

Mathias - Thanks my friend. I hope to choose the correct one  I like the last two compositions, but think the vertical composition have the caharacters more near to the viewer, in a nice action. The horizontal composition is more centered on one character, and for that I´m choosing the vertical composition. Thanks for your great support kompis. Cheers!!

Jorge - Thanks my friend. Hahahaha yes I´m a bit crazy but I have a really great fun with all of the concepts and layouts. Yes you are right, I´m going for the vertical composition. Thanks for the support! Cheers!!

hmmm … some great comps here, can’t decide which one I prefer. But as the rest says, now - pick one and finish it!
Great sense of action, I’m sure it will be a vivid final!
