Nice idea!!
Looks like a retired B-Movie actor, watching some of his old films.
B-Movie Entry: Fernando Porcel
Hi Fernando, The good news you have a lot of very interesting ideas. Of what you have made which images are closest to the feelings of old B-movies? Of course your hero guy with the mask is a keeper. I love your mad scientist and lab scene and the woman the hero saves is a strong ingredient in a B-movie. And the lizard monster are very cool but might be little CG looking depending on how it is rendered. Maybe your original vision of the lab with some composition adjustments and add the lizard would do the trick. Best of luck my friend.
El Santo fought Squid-Arm, Evil Scientist and Ajolote Mutante… no wonder he needs a rest!
I´m really curious how you continue…
Haha, nice one. :applause:
I looks as tired as I feel at the moment.
Looking forward for the next update.
Torsten
hello bro!..well its time to boost the engine and aim for the final one !!
i like a lot the latest one but for this challenge i think i like more the one with more action on it, this last one is very artistic and dramatic,( i love it) …hope u can solve the dilema about picking one soon bro…this time we have to finish our entrys…haha :buttrock: :arteest:
hey Fer, 2 weeks to go! maybe you should start painting your final image?
but of course this planning and looking for ideas and compositions is the most funny part… (well, it is for me)
…a chambear!!
Last concept is really fun, but you need to start going now! … even if I’m glad to see I’m not the only one running late here
JAJAJa that last concept reminded me of Warhol :p…
But I agree with rattlesnake mate… probably is time to decide which one is the “winning choice” and put all your energy on it. You know, Murphy ( from Murphy´s law) may be lurking nearby, and when you finally decide which concept you like the most, something might come up and prevent you from finishing on time.
Anyway keep the good work man!!!
Waiting for the next update.
Mathias Thanks for your kind words my friend, I don´t deserve it.
I always make a lot of turns on my concepts and I try some different things, but you are right, this one is for later and I need to focus on my final concept. Thanks again for your great support. Cheers kompis !!
Paperboy - Thanks my friend, glad that you liked that silly concept. Hope I have time after the challenge to finish it. :D
Ralph Thanks my friend. You are right, I always make the same thing, many concepts and I hesitate to make a call for the good one
hahhhahaha. Ok I take a decision
coming soon the final concept
.
Semih Thanks mate. I´m curious too of witch one of the concept I develop to finish the challenge :D
Torsten Thanks friend, really glad that you liked the Luchador on a weak moment, with a beer in hand :D
Jorge Thanks my friend for your words. Yea, you are right, I go for one of the action concepts, time is running and not time to hesitate :D Thanks for your support!! Cheers!!
Fernando Thanks tocayo. Yes, sketching concepts is the really fun part of this challenges, but is time to seriously work. Cheers!!
Gunilla Thanks Gunie for your words (and encouragement :D) We need to push hard to finish our concepts, that is for sure.
Ok, I’m take a decision ( at last … hahahahahaha)
Going with ‘Luchador’ chasing the evil Dr. Muerte ( he muteted thanks to an ancient mayan artifact)
Not much work in the image for now, but hope I can advance this weekend.
Glad you’ve finally decided on which one to focus on. I like the environment and the mood, but you may have taken the cool lighting too far: Everything sort of blends together in the cool colors. Look at your image in greyscale - or just look at the thumbnail in the forums - and you can see how nothing stands out terribly, so try pushing your values to stronger extremes to make the characters pop. Maybe if you stuck a strong warm light-source somewhere off-screen, you could light the characters orange and get some strong warm/cool contrast going on.
For your luchador, I felt that the leaping pose in post #129 - only without all the things hanging off of him - would have been stronger. It’s a great dynamic action pose, it reminds us of wrestling, but most importantly, it works well compositionally: Having him silhouetted on the sky, you can make the sky dark and him light (lit underneath, from the foreground) or him dark against a lighter sky. But then, that only worked with your enemies on the lower left. Now that they’re in the upper left, maybe what you have works best…
Either way, keep working on those values, and good luck with it all! ![]()
Hei Fer;
Nice going man, looks like you have chosen your favorite scene, looking great as usuall!
Those buildings and torches in the background makes it look really dramatic!
All the best my friend!

Michael - Thanks for the coment and suggestions. You are totally right about the contrast and colors on the image, taking note on your points. About the jumping pose, I like too… and I hesitate again about the final composition … hahahahahaha. Ok I give a new try to the “jumping from the third rope” pose
Thanks again for your kind words and the support. Cheers!!
Ronny - Thanks for your words mate, glad that you liked the scenario.
Fernando - Thanks mate, glad that you liked. I have a lot of fun painting that expression
Mathias - Hey kompis, thanks for your encouragement. ( I owe you a lot of beer hahahahaha). I dont know why, but yes, I like that image. Is not a truly B-Movie image, but… the time is running
Thanks again my friend. Cheers!!
Walrus comment to me that the pose on the post No.129 is a lot dynamic and on the way of a wrestler’s behavior, so I decide to give a new try with that pose. Only a rough sketch, I make the composition on gray scale to have an idea for the contrast and values ( Thanks to Walrus again :D)
I used for this a vertical composition, I liked the action, maybe because I can see squidarm in action
…
I’m insane … a few days only to the deadline and I’m still making sketches… hahahahaha… well, is not a wasted time, I always learn something new in each sketch
Great Fernando! I really like the new composition, it´s action packed and still the characters have their spaces to read clearly. ![]()
Colorwise the version with Ajolote Mutante fighting El Santo in the corridor with the evil professor in the background worked very well. Perhaps you can combine the color schemes of that and the last version in some way.
Hey, nice new sketch there Ferx, like the composition on it. Hope you can get one finished in time mate!
Terrific composition Ferx. Out of all the good ideas you’ve had so far I like this one most. So much going on in one frame, it really tells the story with great ease. Good luck, looking forward to more updates, hope it all turns out the way you want it to.
Hey Fernando! I like the new comp. I think you should be very satisfied about this new one. Hope to see color versions soon!
