A studie for the main character, - El Zopilote Vengador - (Avenger Buzzard). He is a terrific wrestler and and a hero, always ready to fight injustice and evil.
I’m need to explore a bit more the mask design concept

Fernando,
Amazing posters. Cultural treasures would be a fair assesment. The idea of a masked luchador fighting zombies is mind expanding. :buttrock:
El Zopilote Vengador’s lizard lift manuever looks painful. Hopefully his pants are double stitched. :buttrock:
Are thise sketched on real paper? Do they still make that stuff. I like the energy in the line work. Cool sketches. :applause:
Beautiful drawings Fernando; really expressive and anatomically correct shapes! You really master the power of sketching characters, and the humor and playfulness you put in them, make them very special!
I’m gonna enjoy watching this thread, for sure!
Keep up the good work!

Cori - Thanks for your encouragement and support.
Glad that you liked the posters and the sketches of “El Zopilote Vengador”.
In this times a movie poster from El Santo is a really worth item in Mexico
Cheers!!
Mathias - Thanks my friend !! I dont deserve your kind words
Really happy that you liked the concept and design on the “Zopilote Vengador”. Thanks again for your great support. Cheers kompis !!
Exploring the character design for the bad guys; the mad scientific “Doctor Muerte” (Dr. Death), and two types of undead characters obtained by the insane experiments of Dr. Death
Having a squid as an arm is genius
Dr. Muerte looks like your typical crazy scientist villain, who would appear in b-movies and still appears in cartoons
I love the new sketches. Fantastic stuff. And yeah, Squid Arm man rocks. I feel like my cultural education is sadly lacking for not having watched Luchadores films. All the better that you bring them to public attention
Frikin A mate!
Love your character designs… and the movie posters are incredible! Think I’m gonna have to find some of these “luchador” films, cause I feel like I’m missing out on something incredibly entertaining. Good luck with your entry!
Hey my friend, that are some amazing sketches.
Squid-arm is just perfect.
Can’t wait to see more.
Torsten
Hi Fernando.
Pretty crazy idea =) … very cool.
I like the guy with the squid arm … really scary undead ^^
I’ll be watching your thread to see the updates =)
good luck
cheers

:applause:
Love the uniqueness of the henchmen. How does squidarm put on his pants? How many doctors does it take to screw in light bulb head? Can’t wait for your answers.
Seriously amazing character sketches.
WOW! What great character designs! You expertly convey their demeanor with these sketches. The squid arm cracks me up-- it is BRILLIANT! MORE, MORE MORE!!! :applause:
I can’t wait to see this one finished. I love the concepts so far especially the guy with the squid arm. Very cool.
Great theme for the contest Fernando, the references are so funny!
The man with a squid arm is a very good idea, looks threatening and a very agile adversary. And the villain with the bulbs on his head looks like a very tall and strong guy, but no very intelligent, haha. The two complements very well.
Keep going!!!:buttrock:
Semih - Thanks for your words, glad that you liked the concept
Valentina - Really thanks for the encouragement. Yes, maybe Dr. Muerte is a bit cliche. Need to explore some variant over the Dr. Muerte
Tony - Thanks my friend!
Mark - Thanks buddy. Glad that you liked the character design concepts. I think that my concept is a bit local. The “luchadores” films are not well known and this is a opportunity tho show some of the folklore of the mexican movies hahahahah. Cheers!
Andrew - Thanks for your words mate, really happy that you liked the idea for the concept. I think you can find some “El Santo” movies in spain. Thanks again for your support. Cheers!!
Michael - Thanks mate! Glad that you liked the sketches
Torsten - Really thanks for your support my friend! Hope to have soon more designs. Cheers!!
Sopay - Thanks mate. Glad that you liked the concept for the bad guys. Cheers!
Filipe - Thanks my friend for your encouragement. More updates soon
Cori - Thanks mate! And now the answers to your questions: Q. 1) How does squidarm put on his pants? A. carefully, because they are the only ones. Q. 2) How many doctors does it take to screw in light bulb head? A. Two, one to hold the bulb and one to screw
( Maybe Dr. Death need a partner…). Thanks again for the support !! Cheers!!
Lynda - Really thanks for your kind words. Really glad that you liked the character designs. Cheers!!
Matt - Thanks buddy for droping by and for your encouragement. Cheers!!
Eduardo - Thanks mate for your words. Glad that you like the bad guys designs. Cheers!!
Exploring another design for a bad guy. The ‘Ajolote Mutante’ (mexican mole salamandre mutant), I am thinking about using all this week to explore the character design (the truth I’m having really fun with that)
