Latest Update: Concept / pre-visualization: Attack of The Gigantic Rabbit Without Laser Eyes from Outer Space!

I wanted to recreate the ridiculousness of bad b-movies, hence being a giant rabbit with laser eyes and from outer space. Very quick sketch for scene composition.
The combination of the zipper on the front of the suit and the space helmet cracks me up. The only thing I’m not quite sold on is the person in the foreground. The show of utter terror is nice, but I’m always a little wary of people screaming with their hands on their cheeks. I’ve seen a fair number of scared people in my life and I’ve never seen anyone actually do that (and while I’ve seen it in comedy films, I can’t recall seeing it in any traditional B movies). Of course, I might like it better when it’s in a more finished state, but I still recommend considering other options.
Best of luck to you, I suspect this will be great!
@ iconoplast, thank you, I know exactly what you mean about the screaming, the only reason I did it is because I know I’ve seen it on a b-movie poster before & its very iconic, (which is what I’m going for as well,) I just don’t know which b-movie i saw it from, I did a quick google search and found this as the closest,

I know its a really bad example. But for the composition I thought it would be better to raise her hands up to her face, instead I might add a heroic male figure holding her. For another very iconic image.
The space helmet, was taken from this, even though its an ape robot thingy from the moon (classic, lol)

And I was thinking about going all the way with the zipper gag, and actually have the rabbit head a mask with the man’s head visible through the mouth. But that might make it a bit too busy round that area with the space helmet as well.
Working in 3d now hopefully have some updates soon.
@ JoergPatrias, Dammit, I thought I was being original, lol, oh well, thanks & Good Luck to you as well mate!
Cheers

I do think having a couple in the foreground could be fantastic. It’s certainly iconic and, in my head at least, avoids any of the problems you might run into with the screaming as it is now.
I love the idea of having someone visible behind the mask, but I can also see how it might be too busy. Either way, I’m excited to see the next step.
I was working on the Screaming Girl in the foreground of my piece, once I concepted her, I roughed her out in ZBrush with ZSpheres, then quickly sculpted from there, then retopologised just the head in ZBrush so that I could work on the body seperately and combine both later. After I exported to 3dsmax for UV Unwrapping, then back in to ZBrush for tweaking, then exported to Mudbox for Texturing in Conjunction with Photoshop. Which was at the point I was at until… I had an idea today and decided to develop my initial concept. See next Post…
I was happily working towards my intial composition, and planning to work in tweaks discussed on my thread as I came to them. Then suddenly, today I decided to radically alter my concept and go all the way with an idea with started from a zipper on the Rabbit suit. Don’t know if I’m going too far, but I thought I’d just put it out there, I think the story’s a lot more clearer this way. I wish I’d started modelling the guy in the rabbit suit first! Then at least I wouldn’t feel like I’m starting again, oh well.
