B-Movie Entry: David Ramon

If i see an alien here it’s standing next to or behind the girl in the background, like an evil couple  but she thinks he is good deep inside  Or maybe she is more evil.

#22

Great progress so far. Can’t wait to see the finshed product.

#23

Thank you all for your comments, they are very useful for me.

I will consider your advices and keep on working. I hope to show you something soon.

See you all.

Hey David,

Cool sketches and image. Like your poster approach, really great characters and design.
Perhaps you can erase the stars over the hair on the background girl, or make a bit traslucent the hair to mix with the background. Maybe you need to go for a mopre darker sand color in the foreground, and a bit more lighter color in the background rocks of the landscape to gain in depth and perspective on the landscape. Only a comment.
Cool work and looking forward for more updates. Cheers!!

Hello

Well, I made some improvements looking at your advises. As some of you said the girl in background needed more work, I?ve been also with the spacegirl?s dress in the middle, the ground and the landscape. I think you were right and it looks better now.

Now I would like find some titles in order to design a movie poster if I have time enough. And there is always the martian, may be at the backgroundAs Gomez says?

Anyway here?s a new WIP. See you all.

#26

I hadn’t noticed this image until today. I love it!!

#27

This is an excellent poster. Almost doesn’t feel B rated, but it is excellent.

Good luck!

Regards
Giom

I am looking for some sci fi typography.
I want to include some titles so as to get a 80?s movie poster. Here is a first approach.
I also expect to finish the final image this week, I just cannot invest more time in this drawing.

Running a lot. Bye.

#29

Hey

Thanks to Mdmodeler and Giom.

Still working.

#30

Hello

One of the last WIP, I have included a space city in the landscape, and finally a pair of B aliens. It was necessary.

Closer to finish. Bye.

#31

Great progress. I like the aliens, they fit really well. The design of the space city is very good, too.

I personally didn’t think the font you used in the last wip was perfect, and maybe you should make title and tagline more sensationalistic and cheesier. I guess you already looked at some “Barbarella” posters. Maybe your heroine needs a name? And probably the universe, galaxy or earth should be in need of saving? Maybe title and/or tagline could highlight the lead character, and maybe her sex, since being female wasn’t (and isn’t) the norm for movie heroes (and there’s girl in the background - her antagonist?). Just some suggestions - feel free to ignore them  Your image is coming along fine!

Hello

Thanks Archaeotect, perhaps you are right, I will work those titles and try to set a relation between them, the crew and the girl on the background.

Something like “Gwendy and the Martians” and “The Princess of Planet Aragon” or something like that, may be.

See you.

#33

Nice work! Only thought is to possibly cool down the BG just a bit.

#34

Hey David,

Really cool work, like a lot this image, really great retro sci fi feel on it

Perhaps you need to ad a strong rim light from back to the three characters on the foreground to separete a bit from the asteroids and the spaceship. The right hand of the girl (grabing the laser rifle) is a bit small in realtion of her body, only a comment.

Great work and waiting for more updates. Cheers!!

#35

Hello

Thanks to Ferx and SideAche for your useful comments. I’ll look those details, meanwhile here’s a new Wip.

Bye.

#36

Nice title. And “Gwendolyn” is a good name for her!

#37

good work!

i suggest you to blur something, such as the spaceship that seems to be a hat of the woman, and add more detail to something, such as those three guys in the fore ground. Additionally, in my experience, the backgroun female portrait need to be carefully depict but be keeped not to stand out the whole piece.

#38

Hello

Here’s the nearly definitive image, I hope so at least.
Thanks to Archaeotec and Magicbrushlv, good comments.

Bye.

#39

Well, that’s all.
This is my final image, just the same as the last wip, but I haven’t time for anything more.
I have tried to get a 80’s sci fi B movie poster, like Barbarella or Buck Rogers. Something not too detailed, but looking finished.
I would like show part of the movie storyline in the image by using the titles, just the same as real movie poster. And I tried to explain the relationship between the characters by setting the poses, situation and attitudes of each them.

Finally, the idea is that the space heroine Gwendoline, and her valiant comrades (called the Spacers) run a exciting adventure onboard their starship among the galaxies, strange worlds, meeting green martians and a sexy alien princess of far away planets.
I hope it has worked, I like this drawing anyway, and I have enjoyed a lot this challenge.

I sincerely thank so much and congratulate to everyone who has post here, see you in next occassions.
