B-Movie Entry: Bob Wallace

#39

So I took a shot at a quick rig. Still need to paint weights more accurately, but I’m getting to add some life to the little lady.

#40

Your designs are too cute! Looking forward to seeing the end result!
Good luck.

#41

Thanks blasingraham… Took a look at your work… Holy smokes that Steampunk Atlas is Freaking AWESOME! Very very nice.

#42

Very nice idea of topic. And thank you for all the wip images. It’s great to see how your design evolves. Looking forward for more.

#43

I 'm quickly realizing this isn’t a Character design contest. So I’m finally working on the image that will tell a story, and feel like a B_Movie. In my mind I’ve always seen this as a short, so I may have to continue on to the movie bit as well.

#44

this is going to be great!

#45

Yong Woo! You slay me…

Git Crackin’!

#46

I started laying out the image of the final poster. Still needs a lot of work, in very little time, but I think I can get there. I’m liking it, but it needs to be more dynamic… It’s not very scary either, but I’m not sure how scary I want to go…

It’s all pretty temp still, especially the bottom three images.

I’m accepting suggestions, if anyone wants to chime in I would appreciate it.

#47

So I worked on some of the poses, and lighting, and some color tweaks. Still not all the way there yet. Needs Subsurface on fins, and caustics, may even tweak poses again depending on time.

Thanks again CG talk… This challenge has been a blast so far.

#48

very good character, i love it
I think that the letters of the title could be a different color

Cheers!

#49

Really superb work man!!:bounce: I´ve already said it but I simply love your character. Your entry is one of my favorites.

#50

pretty good character!

maybe you can add something to stress the relationship of the two monster and tell us the story

#51

Thanks Guys!

Magicbrushly… There’s only supposed to be one monster, and her pet rat in the divers helmet. Kind of a baby after the gold fish bowl. Nothing to scary… or deep for that matter.

But thanks, I’ll try and clarify the story if I can find time to tweak it.

#52

This is just great you deffintely have the cutness award!

Just a suggestion:
The outline of the head is just too round making the texture look flat. You can fix that with photoshop.

If you have time maybe add a seweed or two on the helmet

You’re kids must love this

either way great progress.

#53

i’ll get the popcorn!

#54

Thanks Jeff.

Thanks for the comments on the roundness of the head. (Good Note)
On the Seaweed… I plan to have some in the Background, but was worried it might get too busy. I’ll do a tweak to the image and post.

Echo… thanks for your Crits as well.

Software: Maya,mental ray,Photoshop,ZBrush

In the vein of The Son of Dracula and The Son of Frankenstein, Screwball Studios presents Cridder from the Lost Lagoon.

A story for the whole family… that’s right Moms! Bring the little tikes!

This is Liddle Cridder Jr.'s film debut in which he plays “the Cridder”. Far below the sea we get the chance to see him in his natural habitat. Momma has brought home a new pet, and when young Cridder takes notice adventure, mischife and hilarity ensue.

This aint your Daddy’s monster movie.

#56

Not seeing my entry in the forum… this is kid of a test message.

#57

What software did you use to layout its uvs/ i hear zbrush made it alot easier.

#58

Yeah I heard that too, but I haven’t had a chance to check it out yet.

I used Headus UV Layout. It’s a great tool, the interface is a little clunky… but it works great.
I actually like doing UVs now with Headus. What used to take a day or so now takes about an hour.
I highly recommend checking out the test version if you’ve never used it.
