AutoRig II: No answer.. so I will try again..

#1

When will we see a fix for AutoRig II?

Also, I would use AutoRig I…

but…

I have absolutely no idea how to AutoRig I in the latest version of Messiah:Animate.

Autorig2? ig2? g2? 2?

That’s one never-ending echo!
Hope we get some news on this soon…

As for Autorig1, I did a test on the new studio version and it seems somethings are broken… the (very cool) shoulder switch controls, and the armature reactions…

Can anyone confirm?

AR2 depends on Python, am I right?
I may be wrong, but I think they also need to fix the Python Plugin so that AutorigII(or rather Messiah in general) works flawlessly.

Could you be more specific about armature reactions and shoulder switch conntrols? (Sorry, I´m new to Messiah ;) ).
I´ve encountered refresh problems with Autorig1.

Hi jrsunshine,
much apologies if your posts were overlooked. Due to our heavy schedules, we have only been able to join in the forums sporadically and have been unable to track all posts. We’ll be back in full force, as always, when we’re all clear.

Actually, I had recently replied about AutoRig:

The python integration has killed both AutoRigs, so unfortunately they currently can’t be used. Admittedly, this was a major oversight on our part with regards to internal versioning. Ron has since removed AutoRig’s dependency on python, which has proven to be extremely tedious work. Also, I have been working directly with Ron on some mechanisms to further ensure stability and everything’s going very well. We’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready for download.

In the meantime, have you had much difficulty using messiah’s standard rigging tools?

ps: it’s a good idea to remove the messiahpython & autorig plugs even if you’re not using autorig. Those plugs appear to be the source of instability for some users.

lyle,

Thank you for the informative post. I do know how to and have rigged using Messiah’s base rigging toolset. It is very easy to do. It is not a matter of knowing how to rig but a matter of wanting and really…needing to use the AutoRig feature. Plus, I did purchase Messiah based in some part on the AutoRig feature being there. I am looking forward to a patch/fix.

Thanks,

I completely understand. However, if you’re experienced in rigging, the existing incarnation of AutoRig really wouldn’t have been good for you. This conclusion is based on the very limited scope of AR1. AR2 was intended to be useful for pros as well as the novice… hence the initial integration of python. Of course, that turned out to be a bust:banghead: However, in hindsight it’s turning out to be fortuitous:thumbsup:

The new AR will be much more useful to all users because it will allow for much customization via plugins. We’ll release more details as we get closer to the update. That and more to come…

Back I go to the dungeon…
