Auto-masking an object

Hello everyone.

I have a sequence of about 600 frames, and I need to mask an object during all the frames. I have another sequence which is only black & white, and it should be the mask. So how can I make a mask from the black & white sequence?

P.S I’m using After Effects CS4

Place the black & white sequence above the other sequence and under Track Matte select Luma Matte.
