Aura around an object

#1

Hello everyone,
I’m trying to create aura around an object.
Something like an egg for example that is emitting from he’s shell an smoke aura.
The egg is just an example.

I’m testing with FumeFx, Particle Flow & Krakatoa.
My doubt, if someone could explain me here is how do I get that smoke from staying still around it?
I have to emit from the object, is it better with a mask? Buoyancy at 0.0 probably a good start and some vorticity

I’m playing around with Gravity value of 10 and Buoyancy .2
But it has a little movement I wanted the smoke to have some more action and activity around the object.

Instead of trying to have the same smoke steady to move around, you should try to emit smoke continuously and just time the dissipation so it gives you the right thickness around your egg. To time the disspation you ca use the display slice option of fumeFX with show numerical on. you will see the valu of the density and then you can set the right minimum density value for dissipation.

When you have the right tickness you can add some turbulence.

Thanks for your approach.

I’ve noticed that the best way is to replicate the movement like a sun.
I’ve made a test with krakatoa but the fluid is coming from inside the “egg” this was not the way to go but I like the appearance of it.

So “Strob” I should emit from the object right? or from a mask?

With a mask apllied on your object you would have control over the distribution of smoke density around your egg, so should be better yes.

I’ll post my tests soon as I can.

I’m having a lot of difficulty to make the fluid to expand and behave like the explosions of the sun.
Ins’t this better with PFlow? I wanted to make that type of eruptions but I can’t get the best way to control that.
Hope someone could give me a tip.

Well I did it.
I’ve made this with FumeFx.
Check it out.
Thanks for all the comments.
Cheers
