Seeking an Assistant Editor
Location: Redwood City, CA
Responsibilities:
- Batch converts within After Effects and FCP
- Prepare and Assemble scenes within FCP
- Create edit logs
- Digitize and export mixed formats such as HDV, Digital Beta cam and DVD.
- Prepare OMF files for audio posts
- Preparing rough assemblies as required by editor
- Aid in the needs of editorial pipeline development as required
- Assembling of shots/shot replacement/publishing of edls, shot reference movies/posting QuickTime’s to tracking sites or ftp/editing dialogue takes
- Quality control of cut that goes out of house for online.
- Offer suggestions to Editor or Head of Editorial for ongoing development of editorial pipeline to continually improve workflow and flexibility to meet needs of production
- Preparing package for Online conforms as required. Specification to be dictated by each production as needed pulling appropriate lists and any required reference material
Qualifications:
- Must be able to work in a team environment and be flexible to changes within the company
- University or higher education graduate in film/TV or equivalent experience
- Great communication skills
- Final Cut Pro 5 / After Effects 6 or above
- DVD studio pro authoring experience is a plus.
- Animation experience is a plus
