Assign pan to a key

how du u use pan without a middle click…can u assign it to a key?
(i dont want to use the number editor)

“viewport.pan” will bring up a requstor that asks for horizontal and vertical steps.

“viewport.pan [50] [0]” will allow for a 50 step nudge added to a key.

hi, thats what i sed i didnt want…i want it so i can interactivly pan…like using the mouse…im on a power book so i dont have middle click…

That is what the second line in my post does. The first one explained the function, the second gave arguments that could be assigned to a key. You won’t get it as interactive as the mouse because you are sending a command at a time. If you don’t want it in steps use the shift and alt key (not sure about the mac)

I don’t mean to be a wiseguy, but you should really buy a mouse.

I do have a mouse…and I use it alot…but when im on the go…i might not want to bring my mouse out and set it up etc…
