#1

Hi guys
I’m so desperate for help :frowning:
I just started using zbrush and I’ve learned the basics
I have a great time when I’m sculpting a character but when I try to create something like chocolate bar or biscuit or anything like that I just could not do it
I’m simply hitting the wall
anything I try to create in zbrush about this subject look like crap
I don’t have any experience in something like that
(just examples from google)

icecream

there is no tutorials about this subject online (in depth tuts)
I lost all the confidence in my self
if anyone can help me or have a tutorial about this subject plz put the link in this thread
I need that so much
thanks guys

For me, creating characters is the most difficult thing there is, so if you can create characters, you should have no trouble at all creating simple stuff like chocolate bars or ice cream.

I doubt you’re going to find any tutorials about creating ice cream, so why don’t you look for tutorials about sculpting rocks or other organic objects.

that exactly why i feel so stupid
but thank you for the advice, I didn’t thought about that, that should be the key

im not going to go in full detail
on the bottom image cookie ice cream

use a cylinder then dynamesh it
then use the trim curve brush , this will give you the flat look of the ice cream
then for the chocolate hide the ice creamer polymesh
and in subtool use Extract after masking it this will give the chocolate thickness

There is no need to feel like that. It can be all to easy to overthink a project and make it seem more difficult than it is. Sometimes it pays to step away for a bit, then come back and look at the individual parts as more simple base objects, such as a cylinder as informerman suggested.
Here is my quick take on your second image, it only took ten minutes total. It is a cylinder resized, dynameshed and grouped. Circular selection for the bites, alpha 23 for the sprinkles with pinch brush ran across some of them. Alpha 58 for the cracks. All very basic stuff and a fun way to pass in a few minutes.

Whoops, that should read alpha 32. My turn to feel like a clown.
