Artificial Comedy

#1

Please check out http://clone3d.com and look at the Virtual Girl page.
I have a character that plays back in real-time doing a stand-up routine.
I use automated lip-sync and parametric animation techniques to move her around on your computer.
Also check out the ELIZA page to chat with the character. The AI is simple but it is work-in-progress.

Thanks!

It must be the required download and install…

I can’t see your Virtual Girl. What kind of plug-in do I need to install?

You need to install the Haptek player. I know I posted this under a Flash thread. There is no 3DX thread though. If you’re planning to come to Siggraph 2004 I will be showing my work at the Real-Time 3DX: Demo or Die special session. I’m planning having the virtual girl character do a stand-up comedy routine.

How did you do this? It looks really cool.

That? Well I was messing around making stuff with Maya paint-effects and image planes. That image is not the end result… it’s actually imagery for a lenticular print. The motion is not as extreme when it’s sitting on your desk or on the wall. The plan was to partner with my wife (her work is at http://www.inartroom.com) to make material for http://bed-time-stories.com, then sell lenticular prints of imagery from the site.

I’m concentrating for now on the Virtual Girl stand-up routine for the sig 3dx thing… upload more jokes, sound effects and getting better motion, then a dump to mpeg.
