Walschaerts Valve Gear

this is what i have partially made.
does anyone know how i can make armatures where both ends are tied to other moving objects?
also when i add an armature and tie it to something - pose , edit and object shapes are vastly different!
why?
also when i parent an object to something it seems to fly somewhere else and at an odd angle!
help!!!

Hello anon125,
[ul]
[li]Regarding moving bones at both sides of the armature, you may want to go to the “intro to character animation” tutorial on the wiki blender site:http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Tutorials/Animation/BSoD/Character_Animation/Lower_body_armaturego to the part where the hips are being made.[/li][li]Regarding to pose, edit, and objects shapes being vastly different. You need to have a “rest pose”. When you finishing editing an object, there is a keystroke that will make that pose the default rest pose. When you switch modes, blender automatically reverts back to the default rest pose.[/li][li]Regarding the parenting problem, parent them first, then change their poses.[/li][/ul]

thanks
but nobody seem to know what to do when both ends of the ‘chain’ are connected to moving items.
reminds me that 2.5 is maybe the way to go
