Arch Viz - Critics needed

guys this is my first attempt to make an architectural visualization. this is raw image from 3ds max with Vray.

Is there anything you suggest about overall lighting, shading etc etc…??

ıf you right click and say open in new window you can see the image in real size.

It looks nice, maybe to put some volume light on these lights around pool

thanks friend. i will do that in post.

Hi armytruck, your image is looking pretty nice but a couple of things did catch my eye.

Given that the lighting seems to be in the evening, I would expect the lights inside the building to stand out a lot more. They should be much brighter, I think.

Also, there is a big beige reflection in the pool that looks like it doesn’t fit in with the scene around it. I think the pool should be reflecting the sky more.

Nice work overall!

thank you so much for the feedback jody. i will try the inside lights brighter as you said.

and for the pool reflection, i put a big rectangle light above the pool and a is bit close. maybe that was a bad idea. i will try without the light above the pool…

do you think temperature of the inside lights suitable? they have to be more yellowish or more white?

I think some warm lights inside the building will go really nicely with this scene. Since the outdoor palette is cool, some warm colors coming from the inside should add some nice contrast and will look nice.

As for the rectangle light plane reflecting in the water … might there be a way to set the light source to not be visible in the render/reflections? That might be worth looking into. Ideally, if you can keep the lighting but not show the rectangle that would be the best solution. But maybe just moving it farther away or reducing the distance that the water reflects will do the trick.

i will be honest, my aim when putting that light above the pool was, i wanted to see inside of the pool  but it was a huge dissappointment for me. i enabled the caustics but the render came out terrible even if i set the settings pretty high… and couldnt see inside through the water…

can you give me some tips about seeing inside the pool, blue mosaic texture and lights etc… for example, do i have to place spot lights in the pool beneath the water geo?

You should use lights as they are in real life. It´s much easier to get nice results that way. Of course, it´s possible to make lights not reflecting and emitting only diffuse part, but this kind of faking makes it easy to mess up.

So, for example, to see inside of the pool you should add lights in the pool as it works in real life too. I recommend IES lights.

Try to find some reference images you´d like to achieve. It makes it so much easier to understand how your lights should look.
