Hello! I think I won’t get in time as usual but well… here is my first step for this challenge. I’d like to build Gotham. Let’s see what happens… d^_^b

#2

Foreground almost complete.

#3

Starting with the Midground.

I love the glass roofing, so clever! You could add a bit more light coming out of it I feel like. Watch out with the darks too, you can always make things darker at the end. Your middle ground could use some clear seperation too, If you added some light behind a building or more of those fg roof windows in the back you can really show the viewer depth.

Good luck with image!

Glass roof is cool! I like the night approach, but now the challenge will be lighting all of these buildings, and adding the depth in between each to give it that life we see during a night cityscape. Give the sky just a little more structure and contrast in the cloud texture for a stronger indication of the moon just off screen right.

Thx so much for that commetns! I’ll keep an eye on them. d^_^b

As Bo Zonneveld also sais, definitely I need to “turn up the lights” on this… My idea is paint the lights over the windows because every images used are on daylight. I’ll wait to “build” the whole city to start.

I think you also mean the light coming from down streets. I didn’t though about that… I better check some noght cityscapes for reference and see if I can paint that light.

Thanks so much to both of you!

Here is a new update with the left roof almost finished (no moon light yet).

#7

Updates. The city is almost finished. I’m overpainting the lights right now. I hope I’m in time to upload it finished… d~_~b

#8

Looking great so far, can’t wait to see the lights! :bounce:

#9

Haha! Thx so much! d^_^b

Here are the lights from the windows. Patience and a custom brush I did for that task.

#10

And here is the final. I’ve learned so much this month.

Thank you for your feedback and comments! Good luck guys! d^_^b

Nice work Juan, your patience paid off!
Day for night is no easy task but you have done well, with lots of detail too - I love those skylights.

Oh! just a heads up, the preview is not displaying for me.

#12

Oh it’s weird. I edited the post. Now should be work. Thx so much! d^_^b

#13

Heck yeh, Juan! Love this night shot. And kudos to you for changing up the time of day while still preserving the original light source.

Love the city lights, glass reflections, and overall value range you pushed into this. Great work :applause:

Great job Juan. It seems more difficult doing it at night time but I think the moon-light intensity and the over-all lighting and texturing are excellent. :applause:
