Hey all, finally got took some time to start on one of these challenges.
Going for a European historical yet modern city! Still so much to do but here is what I could do today!

I’m currently not worrying about lighting yet, mostly comping in the right detail.

Wip 1:

Wip 2:

Getting more detail in there, Color and light will come later as a pass. The black scribbles will be scaffolding and cranes!

Will try and get another big update tomorrow!
Cheers,
Bo

I like the combination of old world architecture with the construction of the modern buildings in the background.

The colours and tones seem just right, and you’ve sold the depth quite successfully.

One thing that stands out seems to be the hedge in the mid-right. it does not seem as warm toned as the rest of the hedges.

Nice work, Bo

Nice work Bo! A few things before I would call it finished though. The light rays/flares on the top right of the frame aren’t in the same angle as the light from the sun. It’s more top down rather than far right angle at a more 40 degree angle in the sun. Also the trees in the left hand mid ground are getting a little burnt in the warm tone of the sun in the middle patches. Go more with the left hand side of the trees. Left side sky is also getting too hot and clipped in the whites at that angle. That’s ok with the bottom right/ far right side of the clouds as they’re closer to the sun source but the left could get much less intensity. Great rustic European look to this!
