Anti Aliasing Problems Rendering

#1

Hi all

Before I start, yes, I have tried to find an answer but I haven’t found one which is why I am asking here. I am relatively new to Softimage but not 3D, but I still cannot seem to find a fix to the problem I am having.

Please have a look at the image attached. The bit that I cannot resolve is the jagged edges on the shadows and other edges. I have tried tinkering with the antialiasing settings but I still cannot seem to get rid of the problem.

It is probably really easy for more experience users to tell me what button to push.

Please help

First thing to try is the Min / Max level of the Aliasing. Usually I set to 0 and 2. Then the sampling contrast can be turned down to 0.1 in RGBA. Also, what image format are you rendering to? I usually render to PNGs.

Gee fanx Eric these settings done the trick. I don’t know why they aren’t the defaults

Here’s what it looks like now rendered as a *.JPG BTW.

Now I gotta learn how to make the cactus look like a cactus and the sand look like sand - but not too realistic though
