ANOTHER prob lol...

Well since so far this forum has been a god send for my problems, ill try again.

Im skinning an upper body yes? Ok. I map it. the. When i project, it seperates everything by smoothing groups. Like…the abs seperate from the rest of the front, and the fingers break off into small sections. It makes skinning way harder then it should be. How do i fix this?

autouv uses hard edges to as ‘marked for cut’ - when you enter uv mode you can ‘unmark’ 'em all and redo the cut lines.

Whatta ya mean unmark? O.o and i have to redo teh smoothing groups?

Let’s assume you have a model with no smoothing groups. When you enter uv mode, you can select edges, and RMB>mark edges for cut - when unfolding, the mesh will be cut along these edges. Now if you have some hard edges in your model, uv mapper will use them as cut edges - but you can redesign the cut pattern in uv mode. So you don’t have to redo the smoothing groups, you just have to (in uv window) unmark all edges (select all>RMB>unmark edges…) and then mark proper edges for cutting.
