This is by far, the best celebrity models I’ve ever seen! You should be proud.

#162

That is incredible nurbs modelling.

#163

jjcoolio,

Super job with your models! :applause: You’re sure to land a job with those. Sorry, can’t really offer any critz… to stunned to analyze!

Hey, you think you could post reference pix… if you had any! I would really like to compare.

 Kudos on the smile. Best I’ve seen!

I also came here brother.
Congratulation for the front page.
It was great luck to teach you for me.
Keep working and I saw your ‘old man in the seat’.
It was awesome!
Practice human body in hi detail and animals. No more face and hard surface.
Great. I’m very happy.

PS. Hi, Seryong and Jung seung brother? (^^) ( ) (^^)
I’m doing well in sony.
Talk about the spider later. Hope seeing at Feb.

#168

hey jj,

i agree, those models are more than recognisable, i knew the second i saw them who was who.
i think you broke some kind of record with your WIP thread being plugged like this…
for future model in zbrush, make sure you remember how much time it took you to model with nurbs compared to the time it took you with Z2.
i have seen some celebrity heads in zbrush, non at your level. so if you cant replicate your celebrity head likeness in zbrush, please dont quit your nurb modelling.

thats it

Is the way you arrange the reference in your model space is the same with the way one would do 3d cars?

BO}{MAN:Thanks for the compliments! Hope I find one after I graduate.

designch: Wow, this is great! I’m really glad your visiting my thread! I heard that you are extremely busy at Sony Imageworks but I hope you will take care of your health also.
I’m really looking forward to see some great action and 3d models in the new Spiderman III movie. I absolutulety have no doubt that you would do a great job!
I remember the day you start teaching me nurbs patches and I could never forget what you’ve done for me. Thank you so much and I’ll keep in touch. Happy new year and hope all your wishes all come true at 2006.
ps: I’ll try to move on for some body work and animals as you mentioned.

warpyy: Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. I will always keep that in mind and check out the timeframe as you mentioned.
I think using Zbrush will completely reduce a significant amount of time …I hope:)

maranello55: I hope you liked the models, and I wish the best for you. oh…for arranging the reference… I actually use the image planes just like every one else only at the starting point. If I have a really hard time in the middle of sculpting then I use some more references and import them in maya. But mostly I try to compare the render with the photo and try to rely on my senses. For every model I had a time that I wanted to quit but I had to carry on. thanks for asking.

What’s not to believe…your work is absolutely amazing! Just gorgeous. It’s not just the model that you captured/portray, but expression as well. It almost looks like they could come alive, like your waiting for them to look at you or start talking. Great job!

#172

Looks great! I think with Dolph Lundgren and Dustin Hoffman (those are the two first pics, right?), You have to think for a short second before it registers who they are, but really only a very short time. Hepburn is spot on, Gene Hackman pretty good.

Great job indeed, man!

#173

What about a timelapse video of the whole modeling process? It would be great!!! :buttrock:

#174

To me every single face was instantly recognizable, incredible work my friend. I would also really love to see a little bit of footage of how you work, to see what the workflow is like.

#175

SUPER COOOOL!!:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

Congrats for this great models!!

#176

hey Jinwoo, really tremendous work! You really deserve all the positive attention. I am also an AAU student in modeling ,but BFA. I have almost given up on the CG department teaching me. I was wondering if you could recommend any teachers that are still there. I’ve only had lab techs with sub par work and sub par teaching skills. If your worried about a job when you graduate, I’m sure they would let you teach there. I was also wondering what focal length you model at when referencing photos. Thanks. I can’t wait to see more models

#177

Excellent and amazing
You must be one of the greatest NURBS modelers :applause: .I can’t even imagine modeling in NURBS :banghead: gr8 going.keep more posts coming.
