I deleted this post. I posted a creature but I think its needs more imporvement b4 posting  sorry…(ths design was a bit embarrasing heh.)( I hope I can post it again soon

#366

i can respect that man, somtimes you need to look at the bigger picture, something i am working on now since my natural tendancy is to look into details as well;) , that last creature model was pretty awesome too btw, one complaint…just cant wait for more…
thanks so much for posting all this inspirational work;);):arteest::bowdown:

#367

All I can say is simply amazing.

You mentioned you may post a tutorial at some point - after graduation. I can’t wait to see it. I can easily say that may of us newbie could glean a lot from that.

Are these figures rigged for animation? I would love to see your Dustin Hoffman deliver a line from RainMan or Audrey Hepburn give us some thing from My Fair Lady.

#368

MY GOD MAN! how in the hell… dude i never seen such work like this… holy hell… uhm. hahaa… GOOD JOB, and well uhm yes i love u and your work. you got some talent bud. laters

#369

that as got to be some of the best modeling i have ever seen, bar non. how long would it take you to model, say the hepburn for instance?

truly great work. say no more.

Okay this was a creature modeling exercise I did. Threre are so many heads which is similar to this one so the project is cancelled. I’m not planing to go further. actually this was done in a lightning speed(at least for me)( the model is very light). I’m just posting this for fun…
nurbs patches. I hope someday I could use this model…well maybe would recyle it or change the head for background characters or a sub character…
I know this model might look crappy but I really have nothing to hide so I decided to post it.
My next creature I designed will be done in polys and zbrushing. thanks for watching and take care cgtalk folks!

jdsb: I always feel very grateful for your kind words jdsb. I checked your work and it was fantastic I must say. keep up the great work man!! I really envy you for your work. You must be very proud!!

ChrisThom: Yes chris, I am planning to make one at least a simple head modeling tutorial regarding nurbs :)… the celebrities are just made for my portfolio so no rigging was involoved. I hope one day I could use some of the characters for animation

Aceroner: thanks Aceroner. I’m glad you like my work. I hope I could be a better modeler soon …

save often:Hepburn was abandoned for quite some time…since I really was disappointed how shecame out but I didn’t give up and tried to finish her head. Thre are areas I need to improve. since this is nurbs I think it would take a slightly longer time than I expected… I really cant tell how long but it was much more faster than the others since shes youngerr  thanks for asking

#371

jjcoolio - you seem to have strong traditional background - amaizing work

this creature looks a bit to edgy - maybe you could soften his looks…
you should really try using zbrush or claytools to push your skills to a new level…

#372

Thank you so much A_K
Yes I agree it looks a bit too edgy. I wanted to make it strong so I think the blocking was not washed off I guess.

My next creature will be done using zbush so I hope I could get some use of it. thanks for the advice and the compliment,A_K. I wish you the best.

Now I really want to learn how to model in NURBS for human and organic objects. I normally use NURBS for things like building, but I think I can find some uses for nurbs as well. Nice looking monster…

#374

Its great to see someone that uses nurbs. I used nurbs once…back in college in character modeling class. We had to do our first human model it nurbs…awful, just awful mine was. lol. Its just beautiful to see someone that can manipulate NURBS as well as you can. you say your creature is not that good. In all honesty if I tried to do NURBS again I may get something that came out of REBOOT the old CG cartoon on ABC. Think you could toss up the frame on his face? Im kinda curious.

Quick question though, is NURBS modeling your main focus…I assume if so you can still poly model very well.

#375

ohh my…
what an amazing work!
The best modeling I have ever seen…your character are full of life .
It must be a dream to see them in motion .

Wonderfull…

#376

Hey jjcoolio, all these heads are definetly awesome man! it seams in your school you use much more Nurbs to make organic modeling so i’m wondering if the nurbs technique often use for character modeling in the film industry ?

#377

cool work just one idea u can make ear rings or something and maybe put over his head a horn :bounce:

#378

Hello, cgfolks! lately I felt bad about audrey so I’m making some changes.

  1. narrowed her chin, 2. made her neck a bit more elegant,3 made her chin a bit longer…
    hope it looks better.
I think I wont make anymore celebrities before my graduation. just want to refine the existing ones:)

Btw, I also posted some of my old work, the satellite, the building scene, the riffle. hope you like em

HaloAnimator: Thanks Halomaimator, I hope my next monster project goes well

Zerafian: many thanks, I am used to nurbs but I am also doing poys too

nell_82: thanks nelly82, I hope I could do a better job.

collings: I guess its half and half, lately a lot of students uses polys and sub-ds I really like all of them :), I pm you but it seems that the message was currupt due to the cgtalk maintenance. sorry about that.

the best: the monster head was cancelled but thanks for the great idea!

#379
