another female celebriity head attempt

#221

I think this still needs some work but here it goes.

#222

C&C Very welcome
These were all done during my studies at AAU. only the jet ski was done in an Alias studio class in the industrial design department. I’m glad I could recycle it. the rest is polys and nurbs(but mostly nurbs)

#223

Are you human?!

These are some amazing models. More please.

#224

oH…ITS FRIDAY night gotta go for a drink. will be back in 2 hours. thank you so much, satch919

#225

hahahaha, dude you need a drink seriously, those inroganic models are great, i like the attention to detail, pretty inhuman if you ask me:):):scream:

#226

Wow man, the depth of detail and just overall quality of your work
is really boggling my mind.
Especially the fact that it’s nurbs patches! When I read that most of this stuff is nurbs patches it really blew me away.
I didn’t know people even still used that technique anymore!

What is it that keeps you working in that medium, and why is it that you haven’t
switched over to subD’s(like seemingly everyone else).

The only other times I see this much detial, seems to be with subD+Zbrush works,
where you can work the fine details in with simple brush strokes.
But working with that many CV’s and still dealing with a network of nurbs surfaces is another skill alltogether…

#227

Holy smoke, I’ve become an instant fanboy of your work,… em masterpieces. If only I could just borrow some of that passion you have.

#228

congrats on the front page man, i think this is one of the first WIP threads iv seen on FP way to break the barrier man! keep continuining withy our models, wish you the best of luck with your progress!

HOLY…!!!
WHAT THA …!!!
JUMPIN’ F***N…!!!

When did all these new models come in? I thought this thread was just growing with more compliments to your astounding organic models, so I stop by to see how’re things going and you’ve got pages and pages of models! both organic and inorganic. I don’t even know where to complement you. Are you seriously man or machine?
Your nickname should be ‘NURBSpimp’ or ‘KillerBspline’

I hope you’re sending your work to Expose4. People have mentioned earlier about claytools and this and that but seriously there are a ton of tools out there. Regardless to all that it’s what the artist does with them is what counts. Even if this were a pure subd, zbrush etc whatever (insert-latest-one-click-tool-here) these models are simply BEAUTIFUL.
The organic models are still my favorite because they’re untextured/not even rendered, leave alone Mr. GI and Final Gather, etc and yet have such strong personalities to them, central to the modeling itself.
I wish I could sit on your shoulder and just watch how you do all this. Please post a tutorial if you ever find the time - I’ve always been very wary of those evil Nurbs patches. They haunt me:D

All the very best to your future.

btw - the hard surface ones and the environment ones are done with using polys too.(nurbs+polys)
this gun was designed by myself…polys and nurbs.

Tad: I must thank you for such kind words my friend, I still do sub-ds too but only after I make nurbs models and convert them to polys or sub-ds.
I will slowly try to do some poly, zbrush stuff. Good luck to you, mate and thanks again!

jdsb:  I don’t drink a lot lately but I guess I had something special today. Thanks a lot for mentioning it  I hope I had a lot o time to drink or either sleep…

Cyborgguineapig- thank you so much. I hope I can keep the passion enough as I go on.

AndrewHwang- Andrew Hwang! Thanks man for the compliment. I really appreciate it. I really love how you model and good luck to your projects and models as well my friend! I hope I could do a good job in zbrush like you. I would have a lot of questions and I hope I could ask some soon!

Riash - I don’t know man, they wouldn’t like some untextured stuff to post in their book. But, thanks for the advice. I’ll try to make a tutorial as soon as I get a job after my graduation which is at the end of May. I wish the best to you and thank you for the kind words. Many many thanks!

Okay these models are fantastic… that it… just fantastic!

I really hope people are still visiting this thread otherwise I’m going to have to plug it again in a few days. Do you have a reel that we could plug?

Also just wondering if you had any textured images.

modelling, fantastic

[edit] I apologise if this post is redundant I havn’t read through the thread it’s all eye candy

#232

It would be a great honor if it could be pluged it again. unfortunately I don’t have a reel yet. i know how to uv and texture but I don’t really have anything textured to show right now  sorry about that.
But I still have a couple more models to show. I just hope every one enjoys it.
I don’t think this kind of honor would come across again so I don’t really have anything to hide.

Thank you so much.

Hey JJ,
Great new gun model!, and the environments are very realistic and well made.
Just wondering, on average , what were the times taken? , hours put in to these projects, say … the sculpture or the pope?. thanks.
Also, Could you please show us the avatar face

#234

haha dont worry Jinwoo , whenever your reel is ready i’ll personally plug it myself.

See you at the labs!

#235

stripe: Thanks again
For most projects the hard surface ones it took an average three weeks up to 3 months. Some of them are mixed with the models I already made like the harbor scene.
To be honest I am not a fast modeler but I try to model better as I go on. the hard surface ones and the environments are mostly done last year and the organic ones are more recent I guess. For organic models it would take an average three weeks up to one semester. But these I posted would take more than three weeks since I made them for my portfolio.
I could do it more faster I guess if I’m only modeling one model though. I think with the body parts I made, I could model faster if I started a new model, hopefully.

Sheepfactory: Thanks mate, I really appreciate it. I hope to see you around in the lab too.

#236

wow, so many new models since I last checked this thread. You’re a machine! Beautiful work - very impressive stuff man.

-K.

#237

the most amazing thread i’ve ever seen!
agree with the others, you can’t be a human!

#238

Kwak: It really means much to me for your kind words. As a fan of yours I really appreciate it.

turx: great job on the work on expose! congratulations and thank you so much!

#239

I can’t believe what I am seeing. You are amazing. Everything that you’ve modelled screams detail and painstaking effort. I am in awe of your patience and the keen eye that you have that enables you to model so beautifully. Your work is truly inspiring and makes me want to work much harder to perhaps, one day, be able to create the stuff on the same level as you.

My jaw is still on the floor.
