All right so I’m very new to this flah thing so my action scripting isn’t real great however I don’t understand why this file won’t stop when it reaches the menu frame. I have stop commands gallore nothing seems to help. I hope some one can tell me. It part of my high-schools web page if you care to see it uploaded check it at http://www.kingsleypierson.com/fnart.htm

it’s hard to tell without seeing the .fla but i guess that you have a getURL action in the frame which reloads the movie

I’m noticing when I try to view my site in Internet Explorer 5.0 it works fine. However in 6.0 it loops does anyone know why or how I can stop this. I’ve been through every action script in the movie and nothing is telling it to reload. So this mus be something with explorer.

i didn’t take a look at the url as i’m busy, but make sure your flash player is up-to-date first and foremost. anyway make sure that the loop on the export settings is unchecked and remember that any MC’s you have in the movie run on it’s own timeline so if you want them all stopped you’ll have to put in a stop action inside the MC’s timeline. hopefully that helps. :wavey:

also make sure there’s not an action in your preloader to go back and check a certain frame that’s being reloaded. without knowing exactly how everything is set up as far as mc’s, etc., its kinda hard to tell tho.

This site is setup so the menu is one scene and there is another scene containing the content. The load bar is two frames before my fade in. The annoying part of this is when I preview in flash it works great and when I run it on my machine it works great. I am starting to wonder if it is maybe a fram problem? The left frame controls the right frame. Could that do anything like that.

thanks for the ideas
