Annouce: Mental Ray Render Pass ToolKit 1.0 Released

#141

Howdy,

This is due to the fact that the physical Sun/Sky is intended to be used with a Linear lighting workflow. Check your camera under the Mental ray tab. An exposure node was plugged in there increasing your Gamma to 2.2 from 1.0.

This is a very interesting topic, Linear workflow. Check out this link and tutorials. Lots of eye opening info here. Specific practices will vary, but the basic idea is the same.

http://www.fevrierdorian.com/blog/index.php?post/2009/02/26/fdMiaMaterialXCreateFB-Créez-automatiquement-vos-renderPass-pour-le-mia_material_x

I was also working on SSS shaders :slight_smile:

I hate the “pass system” of maya for now, I prefere use mia shaders everywhere and use my script :slight_smile:

Thank’s, looks cool.

#146

#147

Hello.
I use maya 2009 and try to use your script.
Do everything what write in creativecrash:
http://www.creativecrash.com/maya/downloads/scripts-plugins/rendering/mental-ray/c/mentalray-render-pass-toolkit
and after try this in script editor:
source gl_mrRenderTool.mel;
mrRenderTool;
I have a error message like this:
// Error: file: C:/Users/DQvsRA/Documents/maya/2009/scripts/gl_mrRenderTool.MEL line 491: No object matches name: miDefaultOptions.minSamples //

What’s happend?

#149

Hey will this work for Windows 7 64bit?

#150

I don’t get it, Deex releases a outstanding, super easy solution, granted it’s in early stages, and Sagroth writes a extensive tutorial with yet another new script. Why are there people still asking if this old solution works with versions past 2008?

#151

Thnx for this information!
Deex create a very usefull stuff !!! So far soooo GOOODD!!
